Parked at the entrance to the wind farm at 794 830. Followed the access road up to just under Cripau, where I cut up, heading for the North Top and then the South Top. Returned to the road and followed it to 805 820, taking a ride to the east of Peraidd Fynydd and then up through the mature trees to the summit. Next diversion from the road was easy bag of Cefn Chwarelmelyn on the right, followed by Cefn Croes on the left. Kept to the road, taking the right turn to 794 787 to take the ride to Banc Dolwen. Descended to Afon Myherin at the bridge. Followed the road to the bothy at Nant Syddion, then double backed on myself to take the bridleway up to the ridge at SN 768 786. From here followed the delightful ridge past the trig and Pen Dihewyd, Y Glog SW top (at 547m) and the main summit of Y Glog at Draws Drum. From here followed ATV track past the lake to the SW top of Peraidd Fynydd (554m) and then via the gate and track to access road. 28km with 1100m ascent, taking me 7h 45m.silveracorn_alan09/04/2023
With Chris Crocker and Graham Jackson. Combined this ascent with Pen Dihewyd. We parked on the B4343 where it left the A44. We followed the ROW to the ridge and then turned NE to reach the summit. We continued on to Pen Dihewyd.johnbarnard2506/03/2022
Good parking at the E end of the B4343. Crappy going until a path was found higher up. An ascent from the old mine track is probably better. Galltywenallt06/03/2022
Parked at entrance to windfarm 1km S of Eisteddfa Gurig for a circuit of 5 summits: Cripiau South Top, Cefn Croes, Banc Dolwen, Pen Dihewyd, Y Glog.PGCE09/02/2021

Last of five Dewey's on a walk just over 17mile in length starting from a lay by on the A4120 near Tymawr camping first taking in Pen Dihewyd, Banc Dolwen, Cefn Croes and Cripiau S top after Y Glog returned to car via B4343 which is not a busy road.WAYNE ROWLETT31/03/2018
Eisteddfa Gurig to Ponterwyd. Fairly direct line from Cefn Chwarelmelyn - slow going with fierce Easterly wind.Smudge17/03/2018
Continuation from Y Glog SW top, dry underfoot.DanMaisieBex16/02/2018
Parked in layby SW of bridge on B4343 near junction with A44 - After climbing Pen Dihewyg, along the ridge to the unmarked summit mound, bagging SW Top along the way. Descended NE to pick up indistinct RoW which develops into a good track down to Fagwr-Fawr & on to Diffryn Castell. Short road walk back to car. (S)gerrybowes16/12/2017
Walked up to Pen Dihewyd from the old mines to the NNW via a fairly good track going up Esgair Neint to the Bwlch. Over an old stile and up to the top at the forestry edge. Back down and along the ridge to Draws Drum. Noisy up there today with the Mid Wales rally in the distance at Cefn Croes.Neolith27/10/2017
Parked on layby on B4343 near A44.Y Glog SW Top, Y Glog, Cefn Chwarelmelyn, Bryn Lychese, as the crow flies to Cefn Croes, Banc Dolwen, Pen Dihewyd (upper forest tracks west of summit no longer exist resulting in unpleasant steep climb from track south of summit so if approaching from west the moorland route along the fence may be pleasanter).ijpowell06/07/2017
Continuation of walk from Pt. 554m. Headed south to the summit. Walk continued to Pt. 547m. With AW.Man of Kernow102/04/2017

From Ffrwd Ergyr SW Top, fairly hard going due to heather, though a few bits of path helpAlanD22/03/2016
From Pont Nant Bowen on A44. Took in a few s5's before hitting the main objective. Steep descent to Nant Rhys to pick up outward track for return. Beware a pack of 6 savage dogs at Fagwr-Fawr farm - a stick was handy!jonglew14/10/2015
Followed the fence line from the track just below Cefn Croes. It was ok but not easy going.clivevilla11/10/2015
Came up windfarm track to Cefn Croes then cross-country (not too rough) to reach Y Glog. Walked entire ridge to be sure of the high pointColin Crawford23/06/2015
Parked at SN770813, followed track through disused mines then took footpath to the ridge, a vehicle track led to the W end of the summit ridge, then 300m of rough going.Chris Peart22/06/2015
From entrance to forest up track then cut up to Cripau South Top, back to tack via forest rake, then on to Cefn Croes and beyond to Pen Y Garn. Followed track round to the rake (with yellow markers) to Banc Dorwen before dropping down to the Afon Merin. Followed track up past Nantsyddion then up to top track before cutting up just beyond Pen Dihewyd (double back to it). The going from there to Y Glog was easy enough before the drop down on the right of way to Fagwr-Fawr and then up past the old mine to the car. Excellent outing.SS04/04/2015
From 780819 on quiet road by A44. Loose barking dogs at farm and up on green bridal track to stile and path through tussock to top 10.35.arranc12/09/2014
Enjoyable walk up from Nant Syddion after visiting Pen Dihewid trig first.Alex C08/11/2013
there are 3 small hillocks which any of could be the top. think this needs a proper survey.DARRENG20/10/2012
Parked on grass on minor road to NW at T junction. Track easy to follow for 1st half. Then indistinct but it is there. Can see route by vegetation. Picked up by a friendly collie from the houses - knew the route well. Other dog there a barker and not as intelligent.destaylor08/08/2012
Start ~ 766810. From Pen Dihewyd. Following the ridge along.steve hudson11/07/2012
Parked at SN79389 83040 and took windfarm road and forest track to above Fagwr Fawr. Then up steeply - nasty barbed wire fence. Picked up RoW further up and took this to near summit. Do not take fenceline direct to Cefn Croes - very tough terrain!Man of Kernow111/03/2012
