Esgair Cloddiad [Bryn Crwn S6393] > Coed Nant - yr - hwch from GR: SN 81927 56398. The summit area has now been felled but same approach via ride.ronaldo33310/09/2023
Esgair Cloddiad [Bryn Crwn S6393] > Coed Nant - yr - hwch from GR: SN 81927 56398. The summit area has now been felled but same approach via ride.Hippster10/09/2023
As Man of Kernow1. Good easy route although the firebreak entrance is hidden by a line of new planting. Trust the grid reference provided.Campbell Singer21/10/2021
Parked at start of track to NE. Then as Man of Kernow: there's an obvious gap into the forest approx at his grid ref. Easy walking through trees to summit.PGCE10/08/2021
Walked along the forestry track from SN 8248 5626. fire breaks overgrown a bit, wandered in to the forest & took our pick of a probable HP. Went to do Esgair Cloddiad but didn't have any notes on the best way to attack the top & we don't use GPS, so gave up!DanMaisieBex03/06/2021
Left the car at a lay-by on the mountain road at SN 82585 56236. Took the track south to SN 81623 55384, where a gap allows access to the mature forest without a vegetation thrash, unlike the marker cairn a little further on. The wide mossy firebreak is a short way to the right. Followed the firebreak east and chose my summit tree in the forest. Return by outward route. Solo. 4.4km, with 50m of ascent. 1hr 15mins.Man of Kernow121/09/2020
From the minor road. After easy bag of Coed Nant-yr-hwch, I carefully followed jonglew's very helpful advice, and with position on OS maps on phone app I came out spot on the clearing with trig for Esgair Cloddiad!! Cagoule + glasses required for protection! 7.3km with just 120m ascent in under 2 hours. (S)silveracorn_alan28/07/2020
parked .475 track then firebreak tape still thwere and white bags ride clearunderhill20/06/2020
ascended via the forrest track with Storm Brendan -approaching - only trouble is trying to locate the firebreaks to get near the summit - sorted when you realise that the smaller trees are blocking them off - hard to convince yourself of the precise highpointwychwood13/01/2020
Non-descript point on fire brake in mature plantation. Bits of red and white tape on trees alongside plantation road mark useful entrance through dense boundary growth.richardrosser25/11/2019
Dewey reached via a three and a half mile walk from the entrance to the forest road at 818 564, parking spot was also used for Esgair Cloddiad. The route took hour and a half for the loop on forest road and finally walking back up the road to the car. This top is a dream compared to Esgair Cloddiad!WAYNE ROWLETT09/06/2018
Parked in entrance to forest track at 824562 - Along forest track for about 1 mile to a small cairn which marks the concealed entrance to firebreak - Fought through small trees & then ENE along firebreak before heading 20m NW to the unmarked summit. Choose your tree! (S)gerrybowes17/10/2017
Car on road at 826.563, via forest tracks to 816.554 - approached along the line of the ride. Several fallen trees to negotiate.Moorponder02/10/2017
As Neolith.Chris Peart28/09/2017
Along track from north with felled views to the west and high nature trees to the east. Much easier than the previous young tree nightmarevegibagger10/08/2017
Parked at top of pass and headed for Esgair Cloddaid. A twenty minute walk was followed by ten minutes bashing my way to the trig (and stones) then another ten bashing my way out. Returned to road and sauntered to Coed Nan-yr-hwch. Headed up by a drainage ditch then across to firebreak. After wandering around assessing high point, took firebreak out and track to car.SS29/04/2017
Walked up the firebreak on the 25k map which is there and quite easy once you find it as the entrance has grown over with trees.Neolith04/04/2017

Walked up from track through the trees which were better than those at Esgair Cloddiad. Walked around for ages trying to get the correct GPS as it didn't pick up well among the trees.clivevilla09/12/2015
with John Barnard; in mature conifers, an easy tree bash Galltywenallt28/03/2015
As Steve Hudson. Fire break is hidden by younger trees - when in it is not too bad.destaylor04/09/2014
Start ~ 824562.Good forestry track, summit in overgrown firebreak, hard to find.steve hudson18/09/2012
Stop on way to TP to the south. Circular walk.Dusty26/05/2008
