From Mountain Road car park (SN 7325 1878). Followed good track (marked on 25k map as a RoW) for 1km before peeling off heading NE on a direct line to here. On to Carn Fadog and the Ffrydiau Twrch Chimney (remains) for a 13.2k round. | jonglew | 09/01/2024 |
First I climbed Garreg Lwyd (616m) and trigpoint, the onto Foel Fraith (602m). From there I took a detour to Carn Fadog (512m). Then onto the highest and most outlying summit for today, Garreg Las (635m) and then onto the trigpoint and summit which lies beyond, Carreg Yr Ogof, a beautiful spot. Time was getting on but I managed to include Cefn y Cylchau (556m) on the way back and a fairly direct route back to Herberts Quarry allowed me to finish in daylight. A very scenic walk in this remote area. /D | meltdiceburg | 23/10/2023 |
