The Lancet Ridge is a great way to gain the tops but to save weight had left ice axe back at car & just had walking pole & crampons. All difficulties turned on the left. Another brill day.signyred12/02/2008

with Gill Brooke-Taylor I camped just west of Culra on first night before being driven into the bothy for second night by midges. Gill camped about 2-300m north of the bothy. Up Sgor Iutharn, on toe Geal Charn, Aonach Beag, Round to Beinn Eibhinn and retreat NE along the ridge and over Diollaid a'Chairn to Carn Dearg and back to Culra. new I'd prob regret not going out W & SW to the Murdo and MT and I do, but at the time just didn't feel energy to make the effort espec as Gill wasn't bothered.Munro nos. 171,172,173,174vegibagger28/08/2000

Ascended by Lancet Ridge, having cycled to Loch Pattack. Went on to re-ascend Geal-Charn and Aonach Beag, returning and descending over Carn Dearg. All in perfect summer weather.JohnW08/08/1995
First mountain of the Geal Charn/Aonach Beag group. Started from Culra bothy. Huge steep snow patches on the ridge leading to the Lancet Ridge so we kept to the Loch an Sgoir side, This gave lots of choices to select easy scrambling up little chimneys. The Lancet Edge itself was snow free, a walk up a very narrow in places ridge up towards the summit. With Pete.pwheeler25/05/1994

Cairngorm Club weekend meet at Loch Ossian YH. With several other members. We walked along the track on the south side of Loch Ossian and then along the path to Bealach Dubh and some way beyond. We climbed up Lancelot Edge to Sgor Iutharn, then traversed Geal-chàrn, Aonach Beag, Beinn Eibhinn and descended to the outward path over Meall Glas Choire. We returned to Loch Ossian YH via outward route. Weather good.pwbellarby05/05/1990
