Parked in Harthope Valley on hottest day of the year so far and ascended through high bracken via Hawsen Burn, track to col with Cold Law and then followed ridge fence accompanied by ATV tracks making going comfortable. High point indistinct and unmarked. On to Preston Hill.crazy17/07/2021
From Goldscleugh. Took the RoW up the Lambden Valley, through a stand of pine trees, then up to the col between the two hills. Followed a path SE by the fence up to the summit of Broadhope Hill first. Then retuned to the col for an initial steeper ascent up to the top of Preston Hill. Then headed NW to a wind shelter, and pathless down to join a track back to Goldscleugh. Then took the lane down to Coldburn. Solo.Man of Kernow117/06/2021

1/3 Dewey day. Cold Law, Broadhope Hill, Preston Hill, Hare Hill, Newton Tors and Coldburn Hill from Langleeford. Gale force winds and sodden underfoot added to the feeling of remoteness of this far northern corner of England. 21km in 6h20m. (S)silveracorn_alan06/07/2020
cold law, broadhope hill, preston hill from east of langleeford at 95602 22655robertphillips27/01/2020
First top on a twelve mile walk starting from Harthope valley taking in two Dewey's and two county tops. The route was Broadhope hill, Preston hill, The Cheviot, Hangingstone hill and returning via Langleeford. I would not recommend this return in wet weather as it involves many crossing's of Harthope burn if done again I would return over Scald hill and then drop down to the tarmacked road.WAYNE ROWLETT18/11/2019
From Langleeford, onto The Cheviot first to pick up 4 Elmslies. Up here on the return, then Preston Hill.jonglew10/10/2019

Parked at Langlee and then onto Langlee Crags, Hedgehope Hill, Comb Fell, Cairn Hill and The Cheviot. Steep path down to Scald Law and then followed the fence line up to the summit. Was getting dark at this point.Wheelsy03/01/2019
From CP at Harthope along track E of the Hawsen Burn and ridge to summit of Broadhope Kill, then down to the col and steeply up to the summit of Preston Hill. An airy rollercoaster of a walk with great views. On return, I detoured south to avoid reclimbing the top section of Broadhope Hill, which proved to be a heathey mistake, but was rewarded with the chance to watch a peacock butterfly.Nick Down127/07/2018
Good parking at Harthope 954225. Track up to 377m point then a good track to the summit. Headed to Preston Hill. Solo.bolton15/06/2018
Headed up from Langleeford by following the Hawsen Burn. left the burn on a clear track and then followed a path opposite the path to Cold Law. Pass some grouse huts. Kept on the path until it eventually meets up with the fence. Choice of two humps that could've been the top so bagged both them to be safe. Whichever one you stand on, the other looks higher. Continued following the fence to Preston Hill.NorthernWayfarer31/05/2018

A walk taking in Broadhope Hill, Preston Hill and Newton Tors. Start in Harthope valley at NT 95397E 22508N. Took narrow path until it merged with track coming from NE of Langleeford. Followed track to col and turned L on permissive track. Then handrailing on fence all way round to near Commonburn House. Dropped down to Commonburn House. Followed a track to Broadstruther. Cut back R on good path and eventually track that leads to R turn to Broadhope Hill. Shooting country this, a patchwork of heather in various stages of growth. Good tracks and quod bike tracks. Where no tracks there is a path. Good walk. Bit damp in places today but nothing serious. Almost stepped on a slow worm?MikeM05/06/2015

Walked from near Langleeford onto Cold Law and along minor trails to Broadhope Hill, up onto the main path climbing The Cheviot, walked towards Scottish border then across the pretty much pathless and very boggy Comb Fell, along ridge to Hedgehope Hill and back down to the car.
