| Very easy bag from the road south over grassy terrain to summit. A massive 62m ascent. Surprisingly good views from the top. As we returned to the car it started to rain which went on for an hour. | Parked by a quarry off the B 6259 at NY 78861 05991. Headed east up to a wall, following an ATV track SE. Left it at its highest point to climb steeply up to the summit cairn on Tailbridge Hill. Then followed track to the road, taking it NW to the car. Continued NE over a broken wall on RoW NE, leaving it to climb to the unmarked top of Birkett Hill. | Parked on the B6270 south of Tailbridge Hill. Nice steady walk direct to the summit then minor path across the moor to the main path up to Nine Standards Rigg.
