From B6255 at SD 79486 83626, where there is a small rough lay-by with room to park two cars. Took the Pennine Way east around to Long Gill, leaving it to hike north on pathless moor up to the summit, avoiding the crags by a wide grassy gully on the east side. One easy wall/fence to cross at the bog by the source of the R. Ribble. Return by outward route. 6.7km, with 175m of ascent.Man of Kernow115/06/2022

From Newby Head Moss. Dark but clear. Headed up Ribble Way easterly. Then left path and northerly before the ascent to the summit. Bit of a search in the dark to locate the highest pointwychwood22/12/2020
Parked just of the B6255 on the minor road leading in to Dent dale for three tops Redshaw Moss, Wold fell and Blea moor Eleven and half miles in four and three quarters of an hour. For Redshaw moss followed Ribble way to the Gravel gap and followed the wall to the base of the hill at a wall junction hoped over and headed up hill to level with the summit and hoped over second wall, walls had plenty of stones sticking out acting like a style so no damage done.WAYNE ROWLETT06/07/2020
From the road to the west... dry but overcastvegibagger22/11/2019
11 mile circular from Newby Head gate, along road then onto Ribble Way and up to source of the Ribble, across rough then very wet ground onto dry and grassy Snaizeholme Fell (no walls to be crossed this way), after summit headed west over very difficult dry stone wall with fence on top then over another broken wall down to gate facing bridleway to Swineley House, followed this very unused bridleway from there then onto main path up to foot of Great Knoutberry, bagged Great Knoutberry Hill on trail (2nd time, previously done in 2004), then followed trail NW to contouring Pennine Bridleway up onto Wold Fells easy summit then back to car. Sunny/cloudy with a few showers around, good views from Pendle Hill to Cross Fell but could barely see the Lakes because of haze, saw a few people all day all on Great Knoutberry.DanTrig17/08/2019

Same route as others from Newby Head. The fenced wall is easy to cross. The summit is not Access Land but it's not walled or fenced, so you wouldn't know. There's a lovely limestone crag to the south where I sat on a ledge and ate my sandwich. Sunny. Solo.Dangerous Dave30/04/2018
