12.8 mile circular from Derbyshire Bridge car park. Up to Cat & Fiddle then following a permissive path into Chest Hollow. THIS PATH HAS BEEN CLOSED half way down the hollow so we had to follow trails to the road north. Not too hard. We followed the road to Bottom-of-the-Oven and up to the Macclesfield Forest taking the path over Buxtors Hill onto Shutlingsloe (4th time bagged), descending to Wildboarclough following moorland paths across to the lovely Three Shire Heads. We then followed sometimes boggy paths up to Axe Edge Moor (3rd time bagged) descending back to the car park. 757m ascent. Cold, sunny then cloudy conditions. A few people about. Nice views.DanTrig26/12/2023

Parked in layby (3 cars) at bend at Dane Head (SK 027 703). Followed the FP south to the County high point on Cheeks Hill at the sheep pen, then SE across country to Axe Edge. From there a decent small track heads north all the way to the Trig on Axe Edge Moor. Good all round views. From there another small track heads west to larger track at enclosure and then south back to Dane Head. A round trip of 4.2km with just 110m ascent in 1h15m. (S)silveracorn_alan14/04/2021
