With Sarah Evans, showers. Parked at visitors centre, followed green trail until the point where we continue up to Lords Seat, along ridge line onto Broom Fell and onto Graystones. Went to various cairns as wasn't sure which was true summit. Descended via steep wall path down edge of Darling How Plantation, where felling and forestry work was occurring. Walked up road to Spout Force waterfall car park, following forest track to base of Whinlatter. Slight deviation from route getting onto Whinlatter as we lost the path, but re found it at the top, along ridge line and descended back into forest and to visitors centre. Managed to get back to visitors centre in time for cake and hot choc.Ruth Mackay04/10/2021

From car park south of Graystones. Graystones (both summits), Kirk Fell (Lorton), Widow Hause, Broom Fell, Lord's Seat, Barf, Ullister Hill, Seat Ho. Return down the valley to the east. Note that the RoW from Lord's seat summit heading south west shown on the 2016 OS map no longer exists. The alternative path follows the fence to the south of Lord's Seat going south for a while along the fence then bends west to pick up the RoW shown on the OS map. With Jill.ijpowell17/06/2021

Took Marley for a stroll, up the slog next to the wall, popped off these 3 in close formation, dropped down to the col at the back of the woods and did some navigating through the forest, no easy way down to Spout Force though so left this for another day. Great weather, sunshine bringing all the colours out on the fells, stunning.Mark T03/12/2018

Nice grassy slope from N on circuit with Lesley after Harrott. Looks over the split village of Low & High Lorton which is relatively untouched by tourism, although many tourists pass through on the way to Buttermere. Wiki sadly reports that Lorton's Yew Tree remains the village's only tourist attraction, whilst mentioning that the pub has won awards for food safety (good to know the food is safe to eat)Chris Pearson26/08/2016
From Spout Force car park, included in a clockwise circuit of the Aiken Beck valley. Started with Graystones & finished on Brown How, bagging a total of 12 Tops (5W, 6B & 1Sy). Easy walking with good paths most of the way. (PM)gerrybowes02/08/2016
