From Bowness Knott cp. Grisly path up firebreak. Visited boulder summit as well as cairn. Very sad to see all the dead & dying larches from Phytophthorum Ramorum fungus.ngthack10/01/2016
With Jenx on her penultimate Birkett. From CP at Bowness Knott with Beth and Chris. Tracks most of way to woods, then a poor path up the firebreak line, churned up by cattle. Water wash and mud through rain made it worse, hoping the final hill is better than this one!nordicstar07/11/2015

Bowness Knott CP > Iron Crag [Ennerdale Fell] > Caw Fell > Little Gowder Crag > Haycock > Tewit How > LINGMELL (ENNERDALE) Birketts CLF page 79 makes it clear the summit is "a cairn standing on a boulder" > Bowness Knott CPTony Hartry II18/03/2012
Note the rock with the cairn is NOT the summit. The summit is a rock with no cairn on it - about 100 metres away.Martin R05/01/2012
