5 of 6 on 7.25 mile walk starting in grasmere car park. Had lunch on the descentThe-Z-Man30/07/2021
The ‘main’ footpath was horrendous being a joyous mix of sheet ice, bog, bracken and absurd ascending and defending. Coffee definitely needed at the bottom as it was -2. With a reluctant GFE.Fionalevey02/01/2021
A wonderful walk along the interesting ridge between Grasmere and Great Langdale, locating the many Synges between Red Bank and Blea Rigg from High Close (NY 336 052), just space for a couple of cars – if you are early! Summits visited included Silver How, Lang How, Swinescar Pike, Little Castle How, Great Castle How, Castle How (Raw Pike), Blea Rigg and Whitegill Crag. A splendid day with snow patches and classic views of the major Lakeland peaks clad in snow! 15.6km with 800m ascent in 5h30m. (S)silveracorn_alan07/12/2020

Across good dry turf from Swinescar pike. Surprising crag to Easedale face. Lovely hill. Descent back to Grasmere is through delightful Juniper stands. Small unnamed summit overlooking Grasmere is worth it for the view.Karmakarl25/02/2018
