With Rob from Keum an t Searraich crossing river Fallich by generator plant walking up road to dam and ascending grassy slopes to ridge above Meall nan Tarmachan. Melting snow in last 300 metres. Many people clear views arrived at top to cries of Hattie a 3 yr old who was complaining at her father putting snow down her neck. We chatted with others wondered about taking on An Caisteal as well but thought better of it. Fantastic views no wind and a slippery descent to bealach and a comfortable walk back to car. Met a stalker who manages the private hydro scheme for the estate syndicate.david.walker4024/03/2024
Gorgeous day - plenty of sunshine, light winds. Views at summit excellent. Path good at start and end but viciously wet and boggy for 5km in the middle!NorfolkPT2116/09/2023

From the campsite at Beinglas. Brutal initial path at the back of the campsite before levelling out to follow the path alongside Ben Glas Burn and then handrailing a tributary up to Lochan a Chaisteil. Wonderful spot for a break or swim at the base of the craig forming the SW side of Ben Glas. Easier route up on NE side, then along to Stob Creag an Fhithich, Stob Garbh Bhealach, Meall nan Tarmachan W & main Tops and Beinn Chabhair. Descent along the usual direct path to BC via Lochan Beinn Chabhair to the campsite. Very hot day with 360deg views. With Gillianrichard6928/05/2023
Round of Beinn Chabhair, Beinn a’Chroin, Cruach Ardrain and Beinn Tuileachan from Inverlochlarig. Wispy cloud for first few hours, lifted eventually and brightened. One or two moments of sunshine. One heavy shower 10 mins from car park. Busy on Munro routes, pretty quiet between. Quite a good path from Chabhair to a’Chroin bealach. Rounsfell29/08/2022

1/7 Walked up from a good track just at the start of the rise up Glen Falloch. This brought us more easily to the waterfalls in Ben Glas Burn, then on up to the Munro. On way back we took in the tops of Meall nan Tarmachan, Meall nan Tarmachan West Top, Stob Garbh Bhealach, Stob Creag an Fhithich (Ptarmigan seen here), Ben Glas and Meall Mor Nan Eag. All this ridge gave very interesting route finding, twisting around the turns of the crags. Just when you thought there was no way, an easy grass slope would appear, just delightful. Really enjoyed the walk out so much better than just trudging back down. First cuckoo near the bottom.nickywood125/04/2022

From the Hotel near the campsite (added another 20 mins of unnecessary walking; the campsite entrance from the road is easily missed). Very steep and humid climb up 250 m through trees and ferns eventually leading up to a plateau. Pretty boggy but not too bad. Just before the Lochan there was a cairn and a trail leading towards 710m. From there a pleasant ascent up to the ridge line and the summit. Great views despite some wind and cloud.dunx200531/07/2020

With two friends. After ascending Cruach Ardrain (and for two of us Beinn Tulaichean) we continued to Beinn a’ Chroin and its West Top*. I continued a little further to the end of the ridge where there are points nearly equal in height to the West Top, although I think slightly lower. We ascended An Caisteal after which my friends descended. I continued to Beinn Chabhair and followed a path along the NW ridge, descending to Derrydaroch. The weather was good. It darkened in the middle of the day, but then improved. *Note added 2015. This is the West Top as in Munro’s Tables of 1990 although the grid reference is not entirely correct. This top is now the Munro summit. The West Top appellation has now been applied to one of the tops further west, which I visited.pwbellarby06/06/1993

Solo on a beautiful day. A Monday and so no crowds. The route was very strange as I felt I had been here before - realised it was a wet weekend as part of EUMC mystery meet during my first year at uni. Took the standard Munro route up past the lochan and so no other tops included.sarahk03/07/1989

Last Munro before moving south for work. Parked at the Drovers on a showery & windy day with Martin66 & Mr T. The usual route skirting the farm & on to an increasingly wild & windy summit. Soaked. Walking kit wasn't up to it! Back to the Drovers to dry out.NotReallyABagger29/12/1987

Western five Crianlarich Munros RHW23/05/1987
Five Munros following the standard route. Skirted Stob Glas not knowing what a Corbett top was, and descended direct from An Caisteal to the col below Beinn Chabhair. Two snowfalls. Route logges as taking 9 hours - 24.3 km and 2110m. SS09/05/1987

With three friends, after staying at Crianlarich Youth Hostel. We left the main road near Derrydaroch and walked up the glen of Allt a’ Chuilinn. Ascended Beinn Chabhair more or less straight up to the summit. Three of us continued to Beinn a’ Chroin while one descended from the col. It was very hot and sunny.pwbellarby02/06/1985

With my son, Jonathan Bellarby. Left the car at NN356224 in Glen Falloch. Walked along the road and then past Derrdaroch, ascended to the east of Allt a Chuilinn before crossing this burn and ascending to the col NW of Beinn Chabhair. To summit of Beinn Chabhair. Descended via Lochan Beinn Chabair and to the road at Beinnglas. We walked along the road, but were given a lift for the last mile. It was clear at first, but misty high up. There was a high wind and much soft snow with hard snow and ice high up and also low down. There is a false summit with a cairn before the true top.pwbellarby27/01/1985
