GFE refused to go to this top as he was too busy trying to pull a shell out of the primary summit's trig point. DTL and I had to go it alone therefore.Fionalevey04/05/2019

This is not a hill summit! Solo. Went on to Mam Ban (919m)- a much more deserving summit that ought to be a Munro Top! This was also a Munro, being on the 1891 & 1974 lists!Dangerous Dave23/09/2016

Solo. After ascending Meall na Leitreach I went to the south end of Loch Garry, going someway south because of the impossibility of crossing burns before going north, passing near Diurnish and the reconstructed bridge (1989) over Allt Shallainn. I was surprised to find a somewhat rough track going west on the north side of Allt Shallainn, which I followed. There was a bridge over the Allt Coire na Garidha, but no bridge over Allt Coire na Fèithe Bige, which I could not cross as it was in spate. I was originally hoping to get to Stob an Aonaich Mhòir. I went upstream a good way before I found a crossing point. There was now insufficient time to reach my original destination, especially in view of the likelihood of other burns in spate. I therefore went north over Màm Bàn to Sgairneach Mhòr (both 1974 summit and 1980 summit). I went down to Dalnaspidal. It rained quite a bit, and snowed on the summit of Sgairneach Mhòr. There was lying snow above 700m (patches) with more continuous coverpwbellarby30/10/1994

Cairngorm Club meet. With the President’s party. After ascending A’ Mharconaich and Beinn Udlamain we went south and then ENE to reach Sgairneach Mhor. There is a cairn at the summit. We went NE to the trig point where there is another cairn; this seemed higher than the summit. We descended eastwards to reach Dalnaspidal. Note added subsequently: The summit of Sgairneach Mhor was the summit according to the grid reference given in Munro’s Tables 1974 edition. The next edition of Munro’s Tables was the 1980 edition although it was not actually published until 1981. This gives the summit of Sgairneach Mhor to be at the trig point.pwbellarby17/05/1980
