Beinn Dearg circuit from Glen Artney. 3 of 4thekirkie pirate16/02/2024
Glen Artney church > Auchinner > forded river by damaged bridge > Sron na Maoile > col > Creag na h-Eararuidh > col > bridge in Srath a’ Glinne > Auchinner > Glenarthey church. Bridge by plantation about 700m north of Auchinner has been badly damaged and is almost impossible to use. Second bridge 1.5km further north is in good condition.Winterfloodian12/07/2023

SHC walk, clockwise circuit from Glenartney church CP using the bridge at Auchinner.TRG31809/10/2022
From Meall na Fearna. Over Stob Chalum Mhic Griogair, then down grassy Coire na Cloiche. Very easily over the two streams at the bottom after several dry days, easily finding a way between the plantations, briefly onto the track past a friendly deer stalker in an Argocat type vehicle, then headed south east up the grassy slope to the summit. Found a grassy path heading south to the west of the summit of Sron nam Broighleag which petered out, then down the grass slope SW to the glen. Easily across the stream, then back onto the good track. Near Auchinner there were docile horses grazing by the track, with cattle to the left but thankfully behind a stone wall. Then back to parking near Glen Artney church.Owen B21/09/2022
Was asked politely by farmer not to park by the bridge as it is turning circle for trucks & farm vehicles. Not much further to Church car park which had orchids in the long grass. Trudge through long grass to Sron na Maoile & along the ridge. Lots of deer ticks.rogreeves06/07/2022
The walk along the ridge from Sron na Moile via Creag na h-Eararuidh to Beinn Dearg was absolutely glorious on a sunny, very windy day. The same cannot be said for the appalling, mind-numbing tussock fest surrounding the hills, at its worst in autumn, with waist high, orange grass, very pretty but noxious unless you're lucky enough to find a deer track. Best to choose a route other than the sadistic joke of the SMC route at this time of year? First day out for the Buffalo this autumn.Gill21/10/2021
Mixed weather. Crossed bridge at farm and did horseshoe route returning to the bridge near the lodge. Once at first top, rest were straightforward. Followed pony track plus white stones and “rose fertiliser” on way down. With Gmac xelizyanne10/10/2021
From Dalchruin via Ben Halton and Mor Bheinn. Enjoyed the ascent up NE ridge of Ben Dearg and the wander across to the summit. A fine round with excellent views and stags roaring from all directions!MichaelF28/09/2021

MMC walk starting with Kevin, but continuing on own over the 2 Grahams folllowing the same route as kdbennett. Sunny, windy and essentially dry day. 18k and 6 hoursalexmaclennan19/07/2020
Parked on the gravel bay E of Auchnashelloch bridge, stone-hopping over the Water of Ruchill to keep away from farm building during this time of social distance. A wall and a fence, a tussocky ascent of Sron na Maoile, then a pleasant ridge walk over Sron nam Broighleag, Creag na h-Eararuidh and Beinn Dearg. On the descent, a red deer fawn sprang from the long grass within feet of me and scampered away.Nick Down107/06/2020
Did our best to not get stuck in the cabbages down the bottom, but otherwise it wasn't too bad despite the mist and strong winds.Alex C29/12/2019
Revisit, with AlexC, #3 of 3 from SE, good P E side of Auchnashelloch bridge, then via Dalchruin bridge. Descended by the P21 then directish grassy line to DalnathickRHW29/12/2019
From church car park in Glen Artney, E along road, down track past Dalchruin to bridge, then along tracks past Dalclathick, then heading across tussocky grass to S ridge of Sron na Maoile, over summit, along ridge to Sron nam Broighleag to Creag na h-Eararuidh, continuing to Beinn Dearg, descending N then down NE to corner of foresty plantation, over old deer fence and up slopes to Mor Bheinn outside new deer fence, reached summit of Mor Bheinn, returned to col, then up to Ben Halton, descended SW to join old quarry track (crossing new deer fence twice in the process), followed track until it turned E, then headed S initially on grazed grassland, then tussocky grass to sheepfold NE of Dalclathick, joined track round to bridge over stream, and back to car park by outward route.kdbennett26/10/2019
From the church carpark to Dalclathick bridge, then through bracken and grasses to Beinn Dearg. Along the ridge to Stuc na Cabaig and Sron nam Broighleag, before heading back via Sron na Maolle. Decided to make it a circular walk, so waked towards the footbridge near Auchinner, picking up tracks back to the main road. About 3.5 hrs.summitter22/06/2019

Parked by church at head of Glen Artney (9:25) and cycled to about 674183 (10:25). Steeply W up trackless slopes N of stream to end of ridge above, then NW to E ridge of hill. Lumpy ground led to summit of Meall na Fearna (12:05). Back down E ridge then steeply direct down to Glen (13:55). Crossed river nearby (NB there is a bridge unmarked on map about 500m north). Straight up slopes opposite to (relocated) summit of Creag na h-Eurauidh (15:05). Down by same route to road, bike (16:15) and car (16:40). Cloud about 500m and some drizzle earlier; level rose later but still no view from either top.dbb02/09/2018
Ben Halton - Mor Bheinn - Beinn Dearg - Creag na h-Eararuidh [Stuc na Cabaig] (pitched tent overnight by summit) - Sron nam Broighleag - Sron na Maoile from Glen Artney. Warm, with some rain and thunder.RobertP09/06/2018
Set off from Church CP in Glen Artney on a Sim,G,Sim,G,Sim ACW circuit. Some fine situations. A few minor tops between Beinn Dearg & this hill.ger15/05/2018
Not absolutely certain I visited this summit when I climbed the replaced Graham in 2010 so thought I better make sure. Turned out to be a pleasant climb along track from road end, across footbridge and up easy ground to summit. Great views south to Hill of Stake, Tinto and the Lomonds.AndrewFinnimore30/11/2017
On survey with Graham Jackson and Dave Marshall. Good descent SW from the col between Sron nam Broighleag and Sron na Maoile to a sturdy metal bridge and hence the track to the road. Galltywenallt26/10/2017

Alone, circuit including Beinn Dearg from Glen Artney church.Grinner07/01/2017
A big day from tent up track from head of Glen Artney. A round of the horseshoe including Meall na Fearna, the Graham Creag na h-Eararuith and 13 graham tops. Had hoped for some bounding along on grassy ridges but only got those towards end, the rest a bit messy with peat hags, numerous bumps and tops with multiple claimants to be the high point. had some issues with the forest in crossing to south side, now partly felled and I thought I could work through the felled section on what looked like a track from above. Always a mistake, should have gone round west end as originally planned.A good day nonetheless.dickscroop31/07/2016

Solo. A round of a Graham, two Graham Tops and one Subsimm from the car park at Glenartney Church. After Sròn na Maoile descended to the col to the NW and found a path coming in from S or SW. Followed the path with deviations off it to visit minor bumps including Sròn nam Broighleag. Continued to summit of Creag na h-Eararuidh where there is a small cairn.pwbellarby21/04/2016

A pre-Gargunnock beer festival wander from Glen Artney with Martin66, JC, J, Smithy, Harts, Hunts & Otis. Left the road near the schoolhouse & followed track & paths to N side of Allt Coire Choire. I proposed a walk up the S ridge of Creag na h-Eararuidh & then on to Beinn Dearg. My brother wanted to go straight for Beinn Dearg, so everyone traipsed off after him. Mutiny was in the air by the time some of the less fit elements reached Beinn Dearg! So much so that everyone except me, J & Smithy went straight back down in the belief that they had climbed the Graham! We continued round the whole circuit for a great high level walk & bagged the Graham. The best way to do the round would be clockwise though, saving the rough stuff for the descent.NotReallyABagger08/08/2015
