Last hill of the day heading back to Cougie | Andrew Simmons | 01/10/2023 |
Route as described by ChrisR in 2021. Gate in deer fence is immediately SW of Allt a Choire-bheithe. Once you get there, it is a lovely hill. | Dangerous Dave | 14/08/2023 |
Up Allt Garbh, followed ridge from Creag nan Calman, to summit of Aonach Shasuinn. Across Bealach an Amais up An Elric. Then steeply down into Gleann na Ciche to look at the last Ent of Affric. | PeteF | 19/04/2023 |
Parked at Cougie for a round of 6 Simms. 5/6. | PGCE | 06/05/2022 |
1 of 5: From Glen Affric CP. Cougie FP from the new hydro building. Then SW up over rough ground with holes from tree planting. ATV led to a gate in the fence. With Karen. | ChrisR | 01/08/2021 |
A good clockwise circuit from tent at foot of Alt Garbh on a very fine day. Had intended to go other way round but missed path junction so stuck with it. Worked out well because met a guy on top who warned me in advance of his struggle up through deep heather. So, first up to Creag nan Calmain (Gt); Cnap na Stri (Gt); Carn nan Coireachan Cruidh (Ct)out to Carn a Choire Bhuide (Ct); Aonach Shassuin (C); Carn a Choire Garbh (C); Carn Glass Lochdarrach (Ct); then to avoid the heather dropped down to the new track which took me round to join my outward route - a good move. | dickscroop | 02/06/2021 |
#1 of 6 from Affric road end car park, pay and display machine broken :-) With Dave M. Amused ourselves looking for hydro construction road E side of Garbh Allt, has been nicely restored to moorland! Old mapped path v wet | RHW | 22/10/2020 |
The Cougie track from Glen Africa runs entirely on the East side and facilitated accessing the summit especially when the burn level is high | BaggerGutt | 31/07/2020 |
A great finish to an obviously ignored ridge from the Corbett. Puzzling lack of visitors. Great view of Glen Affric. Way off takes you down through new tree plantings. | Martin R | 10/05/2015 |
