Up the track then trod from Leault Fram. The wind blew atrociously for the first part, and then it was horrific on the summit. Just a 500m HuMP. Can't believe it. | Eddie | 28/01/2024 |
Verge parking almost under A9 at road tunnel NH82370479 south of Kincraig. Tracks from there past Old Mill cottage then towards hill. Used gate to access southern flanks of hill. Heather not too deep but heavily infested with ticks of all sizes, many fast-moving! | willyross | 15/08/2023 |
Walked down SE slope from Cnoc an Tiumpain, followed road for a bit then accessed through a gate | 187lenny | 23/07/2023 |

4 of 5: From Carn Allt na Baranachd. | ChrisR | 09/03/2020 |
An impressive summit cairn. To avoid Denise and Richard's aggressive farmer (which Deana insisted that we do), we took a track up to Dunachton Lodge to the western ridge (a lovely walk through very dark red deer infested birch woods), then across a main ridge footpath before a heathery descent to Leault Farm and its many, many sheep dogs. A nice 90 minute round trip. | summitter | 05/01/2019 |
HP 10 p NW of windshelter with superb wild views, after heathery ascent from South, via track to North of Dunachton Lodge. Stalking/ Shooting info from 01540 651226-we were informed by friendly gamekeepers that our route was clear but area to West was not. Avoid access via Leault Farm ( working sheep dog demonstrations) where an aggressive farmer barred access across his land and inferred that our car, parked on verge, nearby might not be safe as it was on 'private land without permission.'There is a new road layout / road under the A 9 S of Dunachton Lodge. | Denise | 15/10/2018 |
If you are up for an argument then park on the Leault Fm. approach road and take the track through the Farm. After an unexpectedly aggressive reception from the farmer giving us concerns over the safety of our car we opted to move on and approach via the Dunachton Lodge track. Through Birch and Oak woods in splendid autumn golds then N up heathery slopes to large summit cairn and wind shelter. Blue skies and hot sunshine. | RichardM | 15/10/2018 |
Ascended from Leault Farm - best to park by the entrance. Followed track through the farm and ascended from the west, where the forest started. | JohnW | 06/08/2018 |

From Cnoc an Tiumpain via its N top and the track summit at 613m. Left track at NH803072, kept to least vegetated ground then decided to head for the cairn on the ridge below pt 486. From here, there was a trodden path through the heathery sections, all the way to the excellent summit- the best walking all day. For descent, a WSW sort of emerges WNW of the summit and a way to the track S of the grouse butts went reasonably well- as others have found. Down to Leauit- the traverse of this hill was a good finish to an enjoyable walk over A'Bhuidheanach. | pwheeler | 19/07/2018 |
From Kincraig. New A9 route blocked direct access, so walked down B 9152 south to a road tunnel on side road at NH 82365 04790. Then tracks past Dunachton Lodge and up to the east edge of forest. Then pathless up west ridge to the summit. Returned the same way. With DB and RP. | Man of Kernow1 | 22/05/2018 |
From Kincraig. Up via W ridge. 4/8 cloud, strong SW wind, vg vis. Spectacular views. Alone. | CJM | 15/02/2018 |
