Parked at the Y junction at the Loch Braden Dam, NE of the loch. Through a gate and immediately right on a track to cross the river. Followed the path up to the other side of the dam, then through a brashy gap in the forest, seen from the car. Through a felled area of forest, then very rough tussocky ground to the summit. Good views, but horrible ground! | LizH | 08/07/2020 |
Car park at W end of Loch Bradan. Track along N side of Loch, then on far side of quarry headed directly N up to summit of Craig Dhu. Continued W across some fairly rough ground to reach ridge and Tairlaw Hill South Top. Descended NW to electicity lines and followed back to forest road. | RobertP | 08/12/2018 |
Parked beside Pillar at Dam at W. end of L.Bradan. Took path down below Dam , through gate, then path round loch side. Up F.B.s, across felled areas. Quite rough. Hillside mix of open moor and young Conifers. Rocky Top gives great 360o views. Headed further S.E. on descent to hit Forest road. | The Captain | 28/05/2017 |
8th hill of 11 today. I did a 5 hill loop from Straiton then Genoch Inner hill from a forestry car park out and back and this was the 2nd hill of 5 on a loop from the Loch Braddan car park climbing Tairlaw Hill South top and a series of knolls which i think are slightly higher, i dropped down to the NE and followed the felled forest verge until i was able climb directly using some of the rocky outcrops to break up the bilberry heathery monotony. Lovely to get a nice rocky summit. Lovely hill. | Dazingdale | 09/05/2017 |
