Gill's route from the large parking area as far as Gairlaw then across a field of rough grazing and up through grass and heather to the summit and its three stone cairn. I returned across the northern flank of the Carrach and the track leading pas the shooting club at Hilton. Red kites in the sky and a peacock by the track at Newton Steading. | Nick Down1 | 28/08/2023 |

From entrance gate of Balintore castle. Encountered farmers but just exchanged friendly waves. No views from the summit due to driving rain and cloud. | Adrian | 22/09/2021 |
As per Summitter and parked besides the impressive entrance gate and walls of Balintore Castle. Followed track that leads from the houses opposite to Muir Wood and then to just north of Hilton, continuing to the ruined Gairlaw. Just before reaching Gairlaw a gate enables easy access to the NW slope of Mile Hill. | curlebd | 05/09/2021 |

Parking in a sensible place proved a premium as I circumnavigated the base of this hill. Eventually I found a good spot besides the impressive entrance gate and walls of Balintore Castle. A lovely track leads from the houses opposite to Muir Wood and then to just north of Hilton, continuing to the ruined Gairlaw. Just before reaching Gairlaw a gate enables easy access to the NW slope of Mile Hill. The small summit cairn was in pieces so I re-erected it for future Marilyners. | summitter | 12/06/2021 |
English residents at Kinclune to south not happy with drive up/parking but OK with parking at drive entrance to south - spot height 203. Asked to use gate just before fork in track at NO 3113 5593, taking gates via duck pond. Nice walk. | carole engel | 13/05/2021 |
My last Marilyn in section 7. Started at a large parking area W of Braes of Coul, along road, then easy, wide track with excellent views past Newton, Muir Wood, below Hilton, past Gairlaw, lastly crossing an open field. After this field, left the track to cross a little ford to the R , where a rough ATV track heads towards a gate below Mile Hill. Rough grass to the summit, marked by 3 stones. Longer than other routes but no angry farmers or wifies to shout at you, no fences to climb and views of hills rather than the lowlands. | Gill | 21/04/2021 |

From Roadside Cottage, parking on verge, NO302552. Up track then path to NO302562, where old gate on R in EF. Up The Carrach to another old gate beside pond at NO310568, then to col at NO313570, where met nasty BWF with electric strands on both sides - almost impossible not to make contact - either electric was off or Goretex is a good insulator. And another, older BWF, next to the first. | Isbjorn | 08/06/2019 |
