Revisit from Cwm Pennant.Chris Peart07/10/2023
1st of 7 hills on a 20km traverse from Dolbenmaen to Porthmadog. I parked up at the station and took the bus to Dolbenmaen and was going to take the footpath through Ty-canol however this does not exist on the ground and property has put up fences barring passage so I took the road heading Ene then took the footpath to and past Tyddyn-craig and at jct of footpaths headed Wnw before heading direct up to the top. Lovely craggy hill. Continuation North to Blwch Y bedol heading for Y Foel...Dazingdale25/09/2023
Same route up as Father Ted. Free parking in the village hall car park, Garndolbenmaen. Not as far as it looks from the village, thankfully. Found the trig bolt on flat surface block. With Jill.Dangerous Dave20/07/2023
We parked in the village hall car park in Garndolbenmaen and came up via the lanes and footpaths to the craggy top. Found the trig point bolt, this top and a geocache. Went down a bit of a longer route so some of the party could go off and explore the bothy.Father Ted16/10/2022
Great views from the rocky summit of this Huw.Adrian30/05/2022

As Gerry Bowes route, except we parked at a small layby at 501447, just below the gate, as the grass verge was very wet. A lovely walk up the green track/path to a rocky summit with great views, high above the lovely Cwm Pennant. With Petepwheeler14/03/2022
Parking on grass verge to NW by start of bridleway at SH 5053 4480 - S. along bridleway for about 120m, through gate on left into access land & then along grassy ATV track to gate & ladder stile at 507446 - Over stile & continued ESE up track before turning right & a short climb WSW up path to summit. Same route as previous visit.Chris Peart13/09/2016
Solo walk: Craig-y-garn - Bryniau Ystumcegid - Bryn Braich-y-saint - Criccieth in unrelenting drizzle and sea-level cloud. Public roads can be followed up to SH505448 where there is room for a car or two. From there follow the edge of the fell SE until a good path is found going up the S side of the wall that crosses the fell from W to E. A great path to a great viewpoint!Mark Jackson21/08/2016
Parked Garndolbenmaen by the pub. Walked up the lane, through 2 gates and then clear path to the top. As the map shows, great views all around.Rob5003/07/2016
Walked up track from the east with the family. Some of the rights of way don't seem to exist on the ground or have become overgrown but no real problems. The children spent a bit of time near the top practicing their scrambling skills.Herbert Anchovy29/05/2015
From SH501447. Superb.summitsup17/06/2014
Sublime walk in perfect conditions today. Got off the bus in Garn, heard my first cuckoo of the year, bagged Craig-y-garn, then continued on over Craig y Gesail and down to Porthmadog. Absolutely super day!Alex C19/04/2014

Parked easily at end of tarmac lane at SH 50541 44800. (One gate to open) Good path to summit from here. Half hour job there & back.David Gradwell24/07/2011
Climbed after new Hewitt Mynydd Craig Goch via Bwlch-y-Bedol - not a route I'd recommend! Very hard and rough going. Best route is from Garn Dolbenmaen.Man of Kernow107/05/2011
Climbed this hill from the east (Cwm Pennant)side, using the rights of way to get into the access land. A wall and a fence to climb (which did have gates and stiles but not in obvious locations). Shelters just below the summit which was a boulder stickingchriswatson14/07/2010
Parked with difficulty at 5016 4472 by the gate. Should have gone through as there is easier parking before the next gate. Good walk on paths all the way. Great views.destaylor16/06/2010
