Very cloudy ascent and picked a boring route straight up under the train, but the hard work was rewarded with stunning views and reindeer.Nicky C10/08/2019
From ski centre with GFE. Fiacill Na Leth Choin, Ben Macdui (both tops), Stob Coire Sputan Dearg, Creagan a Choire Etchachan, Stob Coire An T-Sneachda, Fiacaill a' Choire Chais, Cairn GormFionalevey03/08/2019
With Ann. Last minute decision once in Coire an t-Sneachda because the weather was so sunny and hot. Doubled back on ourselves then up the Fiacaill a' Choire Cas to the top of Cairngorm via the cairn at Stob Coire an t-Sneachda and back down Windy Ridge. Rain started, thunder grumbled and temperature dropped for the last 3/4 hour or so but the views towards Ben Macdui and Loch Avon and beyond were fantastic. A fine and unexpected walk.Maggie29/06/2019
27th May 2019 GMC week Aviemore. Cold wind cloud on the tops. Walked up from top carpark with 18 GMC members to celebrate Teresa & Bryn completing all the Munro's jps66630/05/2019

From the base at Cairngorm ski centre, we headed out west and south to the base on the Fiacaill Coire An T-Sneachda. This fantastic grade 1 scramble gives amazing veiws over both the Cories an Lochain and T-Sneachda. The scramble was great at times, with climbing moves and very exposed! Once up on Cairn Lochan, we strode out along the plataue, stopping once for some lunch, and made our way up the last ascent to Ben MacDui, the 2nd highest Munro! After taking in the panorama, we b-lined strait towrds the north top, and dropped down to the edge around Loch Avon. Down this side, there were huge patches of snow, we ran, jumped and skied down, we even saw a ski tourist! Coutining round the ridge towards Stob Coire An T-Sneachda, we had to pass a snow birdge, which Jonny broke, and the others had to walk further up! From Fiacaill A' Choire Chais, we had the last 100m shoot up to Cairn Gorm; #7. Some more food, then a long slog down to the top of the Cairngorm Funiculair Mountain Hut, and finByronHaywood20/04/2019

12 mile walk from Ski centre car park, followed good path ascending to then avoiding Cairn Lochan in the cloud and across excellent plateau to Ben Macdui, where the cloud cleared giving us the full view of the Cairngorms, descended to Col then followed path around then onto Cairn Lochan to its spectacular summit, then followed path onto Stob Coire an t-Sneachda, then slogged up to Cairn Gorm back into the cloud, followed stone path down to Ptarmigan Station then descended on path along Windy Ridge back to car park. Seeing a herd of reindeer on Cairn Lochan was the icing on the cake!DanTrig10/06/2018
