Set off to do Black Hill and had to turn back on route as I had forgot my waterproof. Not enough time to complete so did Chinley Churn instead. Disappointed to get home and find out there is a new summit so will have to return one day. Great views of the The Peaks and a few Real Ales in the White Lion, Disley on the way back. | W111KYB | 25/01/2015 |

Bagged this on an epic hike from Edale to Chinley Churn and back.
Edale-Jacob's Ladder-Brown Knoll-South Head-Mount Famine-Chinley Churn-Chinley Churn Trig point-Edale Cross-Jacob's Ladder-Edale. It took me approx. 7 1/2 hours.
Beautiful, sunny and warm day. In order to access the trig point one has to jump over 2-3 fences and stone walls. I found that a bit disappointing. | dromeas | 09/03/2014 |
with jono and rachael. freezing day | snuff | 12/01/2014 |
This was the last hill on a hill bagging exercise from Hayfield using the Pennine bridleway. From South head i took the path that drops down to the A6015 and took the footpath that profiles around Hills farm and then I took the permissive footpath to enable me to walk all the way across Chinley Churn. I stayed on the footpath that stays high looking over the quarries and then walked to the boundary fence, climbed one wall, went through gate and climbed straight up. LoVeLY views. Weather was divine today! Climbed back over and then ran the path to the minor road and then to station. I came across some gorgeous ponies on the way down. | Dazingdale | 10/11/2013 |
