1.3 mile walk up and down Eccles Pike from Whitehough. 139m of ascent up easy footpaths to summit which has nice views considering the height of the hill. Warm and sunny but a bit windy. A few people about. Afterwards drove to and did a 13 mile walk re-bagging South Head, Mount Famine and Brown Knoll.DanTrig29/03/2021

Out-and-back from Whaley Bridge. Confusion on way up - took the wrong track up towards Browne Hill, turned round. Weather initially dark and occasionally drizzly, becoming very nice by 1PM or so. Cows on summit. Irresponsible people with loose dogs, too.geeoharee16/08/2020

Small car park on Eccles Road at SK 03587 81157 (4 spaces) - Through pedestrian gate and then a short walk up to the summit rocks. Great views and fortunately a new topograph is now in place, replacing the original one which was stolen. (S)gerrybowes21/08/2018

Parked on brow of hill. This is a lovely hill and worthy of a much longer walk than the 5 minutes each way from here.clivevilla15/05/2018
Large metal topograph embedded in reddish gritstone top. Superb views in much improved weather with exceptionally clear light turning green fields almost luminous.Denise 04/11/2017
Weather kind today for the Derbyshire Bagger Rambles after the early morning rain had passed. Eccles Pike an easy but very enjoyable HuMP.Alex C04/11/2017
Unexpectedly excellent little hill and fine view point. An unusual cast iron ring toposcope on gritstone summit. High point either on the E or W side of the ring. I thought the rock on the W side the higher but the majority seem to favour the E side. Excellent clear views, bright sunshine, getting colder.RichardM04/11/2017
Less than 10 minutes round walk from car park at brow of hill but allow longer for the fine view.ijpowell29/09/2017
Quick 2 minute walk to summit from car park on Eccles Road. Great views of Kinder.John Eley31/07/2017
On passing on way to Hayfield from Shropshire to visit friend and climb Kinder. Looked like a nice easy bag from the rose which it was, great views and nice introduction to the Peak District of which this was my first summit. Interesting brass toposcope which strangely didn't show Kinder which must have been visible from heretumpawumpa01/06/2017
