from Gorsty, along track and up rough path through forest. Nice views from top.IanHHill19/02/2024
1.5 mile out-and-back from pull-in near Gorsty farm. We followed the Row along the forest track to just south of summit then took the small MTB trail fairly steeply up the hill. We had to listen/watch out for mountain bikers but thankfully none about today. Once at the top of this it's an easy right, then left to summit. 83m ascent. Views to the north but not in other directions. This was the 6th and last hill of the day. Earlier that day we did Burrow, Wart Hill, Hopesay Hill, Sunnyhill and the nearby High Vinnalls. Mixed sunny/high cloud conditions.DanTrig19/08/2023
Parked at Gorsty and followed forest tracks to summit and trig.Ramblingpaul01/06/2023
A short diversion off the Elan Valley Way by mistake brought me this opportunityPhilipChaston09/08/2022
From Vinnals cp, up Monstay Farm track then atv track to top.NormanW20/05/2022
Parked at Gorsty entrance, followed track for 600m,went up downhill MTB track, crossing a forest road and onwards up to the start. Right along a track, after 20m option for ascent through bracken to summit or follow track and double back. Route not recommended if there are active MTBers, and walking poles can be useful on extreme sections.henryfm25/04/2022
Parked where PRoW enters forest near 'Gorsty'. Clambered up N from the track & into the fields which run parallel to meet path which enters forest in field corner. Easy walk to the trig & summit. Superb views.DanMaisieBex21/04/2022
Bad windblow damage along crest making routes up from the east tricky. We used path from the car park and zig zagged our way up through the forestry.Rob Rees10/04/2022
After High Vinnals, dropped down steeply through the forestry tracks to the road at the parking place. Access using the Monstay Farm entrance, then straight up the field into the woods, which was probably a mistake as it was very steep and overgrown below the footpath. From there, an easier but still very steep track to the top. Really good little summit. Walked east along the ridge as far as I could, then awkwardly regained the footpath just before the road junction. On to Mary Knoll then Ludlow.thesweetcheat09/04/2022
From Vinnalls CP via track to Monstay Farm. Some views at summit despite trees. Watch out for mountain bikers on some tracks. With Carla, the littlies and the Thompsons. About 120m ascent.RoguePulsar10/07/2021
Steep walk through the woods trig point at the top went with Dad Mum Dulcie and the Thompsons.speedyclimber10/07/2021

From the big woodland Car park to SE up farm Road and woodland track up to eat ridge & on to trig. then ESE to the road col and up Mary Knoll and back down road (15,2)vegibagger04/11/2020
Parked in Vinnalls car park, across the road and along to the walkers gate just before the farm. Right on a vehicle track to a gate, then left on the track for approx 120m. Straight up through the widely spaced trees to a track at approx. SO 468 734, then followed this right, curving past and around the trees to the summit above. Descended on a steep MBT back to the trees.LizH18/08/2020
Ludlow - Mary Knoll - Bringewood - High Vinnalls - Evenhay Hill - The Goggin - Ludlow.Mark Jackson06/08/2020
Parked in entrance to forest track at Gorsty SO 4790 7357 - Along forest track for just over 1km & then up between two rows of beech trees to the ridge - Short walk E. up MTB track to trig point. (S)gerrybowes14/05/2020

From High Vignalls parking, permissive paths and MTB trails to summit trig, with Jenx and Bryhernordicstar30/12/2018
Easy route up from High Vinnals CP.jenx30/12/2018
From Vinnalls car park , across road and up to right before farm - no views at all in morning mistMark Sims05/11/2018
Walking along the track from Gorsty I was thinking, a) that Shropshire must have some good mountain-biking and b) I hope there's a way up through the forest. Then I came to a single-track mountain-bike trail dropping through the trees and followed it to a wide path that winds round to the summit ridge. Bracken recently cleared, Rosebay Willowherb, rowan berries and red bramble leaves bright sunshine, views of forest one way, patchwork quilt and distant hills the other. My favourite summit of the trip so far. And all this could soon be destroyed. Save Mortimer Forest!Wycombe Wanderer07/09/2018
From the forestry car park to the south east (alt 240m) Permitted access along the track to Monstay Farm. Turn right at the footpath and walk along it, through the gate, until an obvious track bears off left. Follow this upwards turning right on the ridge to reach a short summit path. 2.58km return. 45 minutes.moorsman09/08/2018
From Vinnalls car park along Monstay Farm track - permissive path. (camp site at farm) Then steeply up through woods to summit ridge, excellent views N in improving weather.RichardM31/01/2018
With K. Stayed at Monstay Farm campsite (recommended) where proprietor was enthusiastic about concept of hillbagging. Best route is a straight line northeast from farmhouse to summit ridge, where a path doubles back to summit just inside fenceline.Ashley10/09/2017
Vinnalls car park circular while SG bagged the marilyn.Smudge27/03/2017
Drove along track and parked up by several vans full of mountain bikers. Walked up the steep downhill mountain bike trail direct to trig pillarcjo26/03/2017
From Vinnals carpark we used the permissive path through Monstay Farm and up the easy tracks to the summit trig point. Abandoned our descent via the mountain biking course which was slippery after yesterday's rain. Lovely views from the top.sooztops04/09/2016
From Gorsty along forest track, then branched off up what I later learnt to be the MTB downhill. Great views from the summitPeterD07/08/2016
Easy walk from Monstay farm campsite...cracking views.steven ruffles19/07/2016
Slightly misty at the top and a little bit spooky visiting this HuMP at one in the morning.Alex C17/07/2016
On 9km circuit from Vinnalls car park, and rough work to ascend from the flanking forest road on the north side, though descent via Monstay Farm on permissive paths straightforward. Would have bagged Mary Knoll too, except for polite but firm g.o.m.l. encounter with landowner less than 100m from the top.milimana03/07/2016
Parked at Vinnalls Car park. Free parking. Crossed over Wigmore Rd and followed the path up to the woods where I found a steep track straight up to the summit. Steepest Hill I clambered up so far. The views are excellent. Spent more time looking at the views here than any of the other 20 hills so far. Trig is the summit. Walked the ridge west and down through the beautiful forest back on the wide path and back along Wigmore Rd to the car. Then had a go at High Vinnalls.Viroco17/04/2016
With Minnie, from forestry car park up Mortimer trail to Mary Knoll, down to road up tracks & paths to Bringewood-nice top & views, steep down to Vinnalls car park & up good tracks to High Vinnalls, good views to N&E&S obscured to W by trees, lovely cool-Sunny dayapricorum24/02/2016
3/7 Third of seven on misty wet day Gatley Hill/High Vinnals/Bringewood/Wigmore Rolls/Coxall Knoll/Clunbury Hill/Black HillFergalh08/11/2015
Straight after High Vinnalls. Followed the farm access road opposite the Vinnalls carpark and then picked up zigzagging paths all the way to the trig. The summit is also apparently the start of an extreme downhill mountain biking route. Dull and misty so no views.Herbert Anchovy16/03/2015
From car park to SE.Chris Peart13/08/2014
Made hard work of the ascent following a faint path through brambles, return on broad paths. Disturbed a few deer on route.rhalstead30/03/2014
Parked in Whitcliffe car park (SO 49422 74187) walking due W to summit of this HuMP. Then onto High Vinnalls. There are paths to top of Bringewood, but some are false and will take you through some lovely bramble traps - beware!jonglew29/09/2013
Up from car park via well marked concession path.simon and co08/02/2013
Good parking at 469733, just before faint path straight up hill (but had to ignore tempting zigzags)GordonAdshead15/09/2012
A quick tick for the fifth HuMP of the day from Gorsty. A good view point even at 15:45.Dugswell226/11/2011
P at Gorsty. ROW to just W of top then path straight up.chrisbien21/07/2011
Due to tree felling the summit is now in the open rather than, as maps suggest, inside the treeline. The view at the top was of a large black cloud so a rapid descent into the treeline was in order.JohnStoneham10/07/2011
Parked in large car park at SO 47425 73157. Ascended Bringewood first then returned to car park to tackle Ivy Knolls (High Vinnalls).David Gradwell24/04/2011
From car park to SE. Easy access. Good paths and tracks. Pleasant.destaylor30/12/2010
