Combining field no access | Basingstone | 17/08/2021 |
Drove from Barbury Hill car park via Byeways (no problem in my SEAT Alhambra). Walked down the Ridgeway path but was defeated by high vegetation and bwf from entering the field with the trig. I then relocated and parked at SU 13186 74497, where there is the gate into the field and then followed the appropriate tractor track | DC11main | 18/07/2021 |

Failed attempt due to crops in field.
Parked in Hackpen Hill car park SE of Hackpen White Horse.
Headed SW along The Ridgeway for 700m looking for field access on left. Mo gate, only barb wire and dense crops (broad beans).
Returned to road and followed it SE to Shoulder of Mutton Plantation where there is a gate.
Overgrown field boundary, no tractor tracks and no crop rows as beans densely and seemingly randomly planted.
Trig pillar not visible so requires a return visit when no crops. | mntainman | 20/07/2020 |

1st of 6 tops on the 2nd stage of the Ridgeway with Lesley, walking from Berwick Bassett to Hinton Parva. An easy out and back to the Trig pillar via a Bw fence. Flattish summit area. I returned with some of the mud still attached to my boots. Onwards on the Ridgeway heading for Barbury Down... | Dazingdale | 23/09/2018 |
Six Trig tour with Minnie, very warm all day, Hackpen Hill from hilltop parking plus White Horse & a bonus crop circle, then Walbury Hill sheep pasture from parking to East then Pilot Hill, roadside parking to SE, Beacon Hill- steepest of the day, then Wabbit hunting on Watership Down, finally a wander on Greenham Common, not a listed top but found the trig. | apricorum | 24/06/2018 |

Along track from Car Park then gingerly through barbed wire fence. Heavy clay ploughed field hugely caked my boots | vegibagger | 29/03/2018 |
Walked along the Ridgeway from Barbury Castle. Solo. Dense fog gave me cover as I crossed yet another barbed wire fence, over another crop field summit in this area. Why aren't the hill summits valued and accessible around here?! | Dangerous Dave | 19/02/2018 |

Parked in the nearby car park, that was surprisingly busy for a weekday in November. Walked along the Ridgeway for about 1 km,before hopping over a gate into the field. This was full of stubble at this time of year. From the trig headed straight back towards the car park, hopping the gate opposite it. | Sprog | 01/11/2017 |

Parking in the usual car park and then along the Ridgeway, As I arrived it was harvest time and the hay bails were being loaded onto a tractor, I was intending to ask the farmer/workers for permission, as I walked along it became apparent that they were off to empty the trailer, my assumption therefore was, there would be a while! so hoped fenced and walked the 200m ish across the stubble to the Pillar and summit, good condition, amazing weather and great views. | griefmiester | 16/08/2016 |

I spent a lot of time on Milk Hill and admiring Silbury Hill so decided to do this as a quick bag from the white horse/ Ridgeway car park. A mile, the part over a ploughed arable field a dull bag but one could have a good walk, eg from Barberry Castle. | pwheeler | 14/03/2016 |
