From Trefoil, easy parking by lockable barrier. A few sheep tracks (more found on the way back), otherwise mainly rough vegetation.PGCE06/12/2023
Started from trefil and could not find a path from start to finish a truly hard walk through bog and tussock grasslands and along sheep tracks. However the cairns are surprisingly interesting and the cairn would make a fine county summit. Certainly don't do this walk from trefil unless you know of a footpath a hard slog for a unclassified hill summithodder13/09/2023
7 mile solo run from Parc Bryn Bach .. I know its been demoted but these hills are so nice during a dry spell .. plenty of good trods once youve found your way through the GOML country onto the access landmilejunkie01/06/2023

From Dolygaer. Circuit of Pant y Creigiau, Bryniau Gleision, Cwar yr Ystrad, Cefn yr Ystrad, Twyn Ceilog, Pen March and Merthyr Common. Shouldn't have bothered with the last three as it was a thankless bogfest for uninspiring 'summits'.welshyboyo27/05/2019
Park at Trefil, followed road from village and then across moorland. Would be hard work when wet.Ramblingpaul22/05/2018

A465 was closed and diversion meant a quick nip up from the main road. dry spell meant no bog.dicky12/04/2015
1/7 Did this one thing first thing in morning very boggy approach from the village of Trefil. Not easy 'summit' to ascertain location !Fergalh11/01/2015
From Pen March. No paths if you go direct. Hard work. 'Summit' could be anywhere as you cannot work out where the 'end of the ridge'is. Pleasant spot. Had a good walk around.destaylor08/03/2013
From the west. A rough remote circuit linking obscure council top high points with zero prominence- a good mountain marathon training run.Has since been demoted of its status.Chris Pearson21/04/2006
