In my rush down, stumbled over this peak. Headed back down track to find deer gate closed with no way around. So just hoisted myself over it. Company: Solo | iandesbottes | 17/11/2023 |

Parked at the wide track junction 500 yards N of Ballimore. Two deer gates cross the track ahead, the first with a slat missing from the wooden fence to its right, the next with a ladder-like wooden fence to its left. Crossed the river on at the track ford a few hundred yards before the cowshed and made my way on to Beinn Stacach's east ridge, making a circuit of the east top, Beinn Stacach itself, Beinn Bhreac, Taoibh na Coille, TnC south top and Meall Gaothach before cutting back east of TnC and south of Beinn Stacach into Gleann Dubh. Saw a fox lapping from a lochan near BS east top within a few yards of me. | Nick Down1 | 15/05/2020 |

En route to Beinn Stacach | TRG318 | 08/07/2019 |
Plenty of parking 500m north of Ballimore, from which a track leads SW. Before reaching a deer gate a normal gate can be scaled, enabling a pretty straightforward climb to the Creag Mhor ridge. There a couple of false tops before the actual summit s reached, then onwards to Creag an Fhiog. Superb views up and down Loch Voil make up for the boggy Bealach Driseach, from where the ascent to Ceann na Baintighearna takes you to drier ground. Turning south to Beinn Stachach (or whatever you choose to call it) takes you alongside a couple of derelict fences (why don't landowners remove these once defunct?) to a small stone cairn (which I rebuilt) just to the east of the trig. Its all down hill from here, taking in the East top before reaching the bridge over the Allt Fathan Glinne, and an ever expanding track back to the start. Met Pete R back at the car - always nice to say hello to a fellow bagger! | summitter | 30/03/2019 |

forecast for the weekend was not great so had decided against Ben Alder; I stopped to buy a sandwich and cinnamon bun at Tesco in Callander; onwards to Balquiddher and then Ballimore farm. I looked at the landrover track north of the Allt fathan Glinne, but it was barred by a high gate with 'Private Deer Park; deer are sensitive notice'. Instead i took the Right of Way towards Brig O'Turk, the track was sketchy and very boggy, I crossed the burn by a bridge beyond the cattle shed and headed across broken ground with multiple morraine hillocks onto the ridge. The route along the ridge was rough and tiresome, the summit seemed to be a long way off; I reached the summit at 1423, perhaps almost 3 hours from the car (ie slow), but returning more or less the same way I was back down in 2 hours 20 mins; the right of way was unimpressive and the notice about the deer park lacked credibility given the absence of any visible deer and the gaps in the fencing at the other end, it seems more about | langskill | 08/06/2014 |
