Run from Linn of Dee, Devils Point, Cairn Toul, Sgor an Lochain Uaine, BraeriachHuwel20/08/2019
Epic day! Walked solo. From Linn of Dee to White Bridge and along Lairig Ghru path to Corrour Bothy. Steep climb up good path to Devil's Point. Great viewpoint. Returned to col and traversed at around 1000m contour around Cairn Toul and Angel's Peak to point 899m above Loch nan Struirteag. Hardest part of walk ... bogs and boulder runs (not recommended!). Over the massive Munro's Monadh Mor and Beinn Bhrotain to Munro Top Carn Cloich-Mhullinn. Generally easy walking over grassy and bouldery ridges, with occasional faint paths. Descend through heather, avoiding summit of Carn Fiaclach, to path on west side of Glen Dee at the Allt Iarnaidh. Long return to White Bridge (to cross) and Linn of Dee. Weather dry and clear most of day, but closed in after Beinn Bhrotain with a heavy shower and lowering mist. Total distance about 33km ... could be reduced by about 9km with a mountain bike to White Bridge! Took me nearly 12 hours ... due to late start I finished by torchlight!jamessteel10008/08/2019

Overnight in Corrour bothy. Very crowded. Weather on the walk In from Derry Lodge Was a bit grim. Walk up the Munro is fairly straightforward but had to abandon plans for Carn Toul etc due to onset of stormy weather.Chris Terrey 01/07/2017
Solo. After Braeriach wild camp. neil hutton20/06/2017
From the Sugar Bowl car park climbed Braeriach over Stob na Laurige. I was convinced by a teacher I met part way that I should do the other Munros. So I went on to Carn na Criche, The Angels Peak, Cairn Toul, Stob Coire an t Saighdeir and The Devils Point. I then went down to Corrour and the long walk North on the Lairig Ghru and back through the Chalamain Gap. The weather was warm and sunny with cloud free skies I got burnt. Wildlife included Snow Bunting, Grey Wagtail, Red Grouse, Ptarmigan a Lizard near Corrour and a Roe Deer near the Wells of Dee. Walk distance about 23 miles in 11 hours 30 minutes. Tiring but great day. The plateaux is very special in the UK hills.isabelle31/05/2017

4th of 4. Dropped the pack and bagged the tick. Little time to spare as I was going to be up against it to get back out before dark. The route out along the Lairig Ghru path is pretty awful at times and a constant slog. 38.4km, 2260m, 13hr20.bowzi26/05/2013

Cairngorm Club bus meet. With Rhona Fraser. A long trip that was timed beforehand with Naismith’s formula. We had it clear all day, though cloud/mist descended on to Beinn Macdui. There was a little rain with one quite heavy, short shower between Luibeg Burn and Derry Lodge. A splendid trip in which we beat Naismith’s formula. From the bend in road to Cairngorm skiing area at NH984074 to top of Lairg Ghru, Sgor an Lochain Uaine via NE Ridge (ably led by Rhona), Cairn Toul, Stob Coire an t-Saighdeir, The Devil’s Point, Corrour Bothy and Derry Lodge to end at Linn if Dee car park. Walked in with Mark & John through deep snow from Linn of Dee (8 miles took 4 and half hours)to spend the night at Corrour bothy (our first taste of bothy life). John & I then climbed Devil's Peak with difficulty over loose rocks buried under soft snow, but reached top in 1 hour. great sunny views and corniced edges. Rejoined Mark who had meanwhile dug a snow hole for himself in a snow bank behind the bothy! Great meal of tinned (!) stew , mash and peas. Learnt that bothies are cold and icy heather will not burn-despite putting trangia burner in middle of it then a candle-took to sleeping bags to keep warm.Chris Pearson18/03/1985

1987-1988 Looking for a pal in Corrour bothy, stopped there but he'd set off for the day, off to the peaks. Took off after him up The Devil's Point, but was constantly about 30-40 mins behind him ntil we met later in the afternoon in Lairig Ghru. A great peak, with super views.spstrachanblank
