Sketchy path across from former summit (and Marilyn/Corbett), we had good visibility but in mist navigation would be tricky. Ben Avon continued clear, and distant views of Rinnes, Drochaide, Mount Keen, but Lochnagar not clear till later.NorfolkPT2120/03/2024
Having climbed Carn Liath in 1998 there was some doubt whether I had walked over to do the revised new highest point at the time to claim the Corbett and given that I have made plans for doing my last Corbett in few months time I didn't want to leave any doubt as to whether I had been to the real top!! It still looks lower than Carn Liath but hey ho what the hell do I know!! That's it done now and definitely just one more left now.Jossker03/03/2023

From Keiloch car park for a round of Culardoch, Carn Liath and Creag an Dail Bheag.rhalstead25/06/2022
Culardoch and Creag an Dail Bheag from Keiloch. Pleasant walk in in ever-changing conditions - sun, then clouds, then some drizzle, though calm down on the track and windy on the tops. Not the most exciting hills, but a good wee walk - 5h 32min total time.mproudfoot12/06/2022
Keiloch, Culardoch, Carn Liath on to Creag an Dail Bheag, very windy. Back to track via Carn Liath.Flatfield18/05/2022
From Culardoch. Faint path over Carn Liath. Fairly good going, very dry, thin heather, mostly small stones. Returned to the main track back over Carn Liath, joining the track at about 600m asl. Then a very pleasant and easy walk back to Keiloch.Owen B19/04/2022
Climbed with Richard, mixed day quite windy and poor visibility/snow on topamcculloch14/02/2022
With Sue from car park at Ke1loch, cycle along estate roads to Bealach Dearg. climb E should to summit of Carn Liath. Working off old 222 Corbett list, adding new surveyed. Walked two tops (Creag an Dail Beheag) and returned to Bealach and ascend Cullardoch. Return same way to bikes.Frank19/09/2021
The navigation from Carn Liath in the low cloud was a little tricky. Just as well I had a GPS as there is a cairn a few hundred yards short of the top and the cairn at the top is much smaller perched on a mini rock tor. Cloud was beginning to clear as I left the summit. The young couple caught up with me at the summit but they were returning by a different route - I had to retrace my steps to pick up the bike.langskill26/06/2021

Magnificent sunny day with patches of new snow. Super views of the big hills. Plenty wildlife. Big walk for us on the day. I think this new summit should still be called called Carn Liath as the Craig refers to a crag down in the valley.GWR Chris07/05/2021
Culardoch and Creag an Dail Bheag from Keiloch. Bike 'n HikeHuwel27/04/2021
From Keiloch, up the Slugain to the second ford, bulldozed track to its high point then towards Meall Dorch, joining an ATV track, then deer tracks towards Meall an t-Slugain, bogs, then heather to summit but nice tundra walk down and over Carn na Craoibhe Seileich. Joined wrecked ATV track lower down to Eag Dubh then up rough stuff, easy on ridge to Creag an Dail Bheag, over Carn Liath and down easily at first, then long heather to join awful path at col below Creag a' Chait. Deer track gives easy way up through short heather to summit. Down is mainly easy going, then across Allt Dourie to ATV track and gate, then track to the Stables and back to Keiloch.Gill213/04/2021

With Culardoch. Cycled from Keilloch to high point of track. V windy, showers missed me (just), many other summits in cloud, but both my hills clear (and Morrone). Occasional weak sunshine. Rounsfell28/10/2020
Walked over from Carn Liath and covered all highpoints. Back to Keiloch via the Simm - Creag a'Chait. Solo.bolton14/09/2020
Despite knowing the results of the survey to the contray I would still lose good money betting that the old summit is higher - such is the nature of the undulating multi top summit plateau. In fact a fellow walker asked if we were doing all 7 tops - I now know what she meant -as there are a lot of possible candidates -each feeling like the highest -until the next is reached.Chris Pearson06/09/2020

From car park at Keiloch, along estate roads to W of Altdourie, then tracks N in glen of Glas Allt Beag, continuing to col between Creag an Dail Bheag and Carn Liath, W to the first, then E to the second, descending to Loch Builg track, following that to a sharp bend W of Culardoch, continuing on small tracks and paths up Culardoch, descending S to track that then rejoins Loch Builg track, thence S to Invercauld and return to Keilochkdbennett13/04/2019
Previously climbed Carn Liath (formerly Corbett top). Visually difficult - summit of Creag an Dail Bheag always looks lower than at least 3 other possible tops.clashcityrocker11/04/2019

During a week in Tomintoul. With Smithy from the car park (£3) at Keiloch. Followed the RoW NE from just short of Invercauld House. Just before exiting the trees, put my sack down on a nest of quite gigantic ants! Took track all way to high point due W of Culardoch & then slanted up the final slope into a very stiff wind to the top. Swift retreat down to col, back along track for about 1km & then took an obvious path just past a small cairn to Carn Liath/Creag An Dail Bheag. Wandered over every lump & bump like a proper bagger just to be sure. Strangely not as windy as Culardoch. Then made a total mess of the descent by initially following the wall & then changing tack, heather bashing over to the outward track & back to the car.NotReallyABagger09/09/2018
The many topped Marilyn. Having found what I thought was the top, I decided I'd entered the coords into my GPS wrong. Then I realised there was yet another top 200m away. After Culardoch. Another superb day.dal06/07/2018

Walked up from the carpark at Invercauld Estate. A stunning day, -5degrees but blue sky and no wind at all. Saw a flock of waxwings on the way up. With DoogzPeterb20/11/2016
Cycled from Keiloch up to about 600m, then gentle slopes, smooth ground and short vegetation to the summit. Arrived at 1930 in a gale which may have reduced the chill factor to below zero.Topographer5707/07/2016
Invercauld estate, pay to park, make sure u have coins, good tracks most of way. With mora. they moved the top! so its a longer day.BLACKHILL03/07/2016

A pleasant walk up from the Keiloch car park on the estate track and then a straightforward jaunt over the short heather to gain the new top with stunning views of Ben Avon looming across Glen Gairntorkm15/05/2016

Cycled from Kelloch to Alltdourie. Then up Glas Allt Beag to col. Short distance to summit. Should have done this when I did the other twin.ngthack08/04/2016
The route up the Glas Allt Beag is highly recommended, for incredible, totally stunning views. You'll get to see Lochnagar and the Mounth, Glen Shee and Braemar, Carn na Drochaide and Beinn a'Bhuird on the way up. Next there is a gloriously easy stroll round the plateau on short heather, with a grandstand view of Ben Avon (and half of Scotland). The plateau is huge, with numerous cairns to visit, so I visited all of them, and then the cairns on Carn Liath. I went down via point 857 m to the track, through soft snow fields, then down the track to Alltdourie, with more stunning views. I was very fortunate to see the surrounding Munros in all their snowy glory in blue skies and sunshine, on the day when the temperature in Braemar broke records for March at 19 C. Despite the snow on the Munros, I was poncing around on dry heather on the Corbett. It was tee shirt weather all day, even when loafing around on the top admiring the view, eating cake and drinking tea. Fabulous!Gill17/03/2016
Cycled from car park up to the point where the track comes in from Culardoch. Mixture of snow and heather but ascent reasonably straightforward almost directly to the first of the 862m tops. Easy stroll over to the other then over the unnamed top and down to the track for an ascent of Culardoch. Glorious weather and a welcome return in a little over half an hour on the bikes.kenmorti16/03/2016
Cycle up good tracks over carn liath first to the top.robertphillips30/10/2015
