2 of 6: From the East Top: P749. With Karen.ChrisR06/07/2023
On day 9 of TGOC 2023, between Water of Caiplich and Corndavon Lodgealistairpooler20/05/2023
Solo from Corgarff castle car park. Cloudy and very windy (45mph gusts reported). Ascended up the track past the castle up to 630m just south of Carn Oighreag. Headed up the heather from there and across some very wet peat bog. Through the gate in the newish fence near the 823 point and then along (more peat bog) to the summit (892m). Decided to avoid the same route on return so headed direct north from here down on the track that runs down beside Little Caochan Odhar down to Inchmore, then followed the road back around the Corgarff. 10.3mi, 502m ascent, 3h 4mins total time.mproudfoot30/10/2022
Parked for Corgarff Castle. Followed track through gate to right of castle to meet the track which leads to Carn Oighreag. Left track at col heading across bog for Brown Cow Hill. Came down over Carn Oighreag then track down to North.PeteF18/10/2022
Good round from CP to NE (NJ 254 089). Atv's most of the way except over peat cloughs where indistinct. Carn Oighreag to Brown Cow Hill - now new fencing on ridge. Onto Meikle Geal Charn where a double electric fence begins in a NW direction. Walked S-side fence line over Little Geal Charn and onto Cairn Culchavie - there are stiles at NJ 1942 0649 and NJ 2001 0705. Very good of landowners. Track becomes tarmac at NJ 225 087. Return to the road and CP not gated, so a bike could be driven up and dropped off here.carole engel24/07/2022
Climbed on out and back route from Corgarff Castle. Route initially on wide stony track, before turning off to cross vast boggy upper slopes with many peat hags to negotiate. Actual summit plateau much easier going when reached. Large bulldozer/digger parked near summit. Lots of moorland birds seen including lapwing and dotterel as well as a pair of oystercatchers.southern_rambler26/05/2022
Standard route out and back from Corgarff Castle. No problems, but pathless and misty on the summit plateau made for frequent navigation checks.Owen B23/04/2022
With Rhona, Struie and Heather. From Corgarff Castle. return via Meikle Geal Charn. Then Inchmore and Dalnadamph. Return = easy walking on estate tracks. Snowy conditions on top, 6-8 inches lying but lovely clear views.DampandDusty02/04/2022

From Corgarff Castle, following track S, forking right in the wood to ascend Carn Oighreag along a line of grouse butts and on up to the summit, descended S to col with Brown Cow Hill and up to 823m spot, waited there while grouse beaters moved off Brown Cow Hill (towards N) then reached summit, then avoided further grouse shooting encounters by walking directly back to the track SE of Carn Oighreag and return to Corgarffkdbennett19/09/2020

Parked at Corgarff castle car park. Through the castle grounds and headed south on the track which leads to the col between Carn Oighreag and Brown Cow. Followed the 'butts' through snow and ice in tough conditions. From the summit descended north to pick up the track at 219059 for a more simple walk back. 4 hours 35 minutes. Solo.bolton18/02/2016
Lovely walk to it, just sat enjoyed the sun on my face and enjoyed the views of the Cairngorms and other peaks. No cows up here. Company: Soloiandesbottes14/05/2015
Brown Cow Hill, more like Brown Bog Hill, not a Brown Cow in sight. Plenty of mountain hares, still in their winter coats, grouse and what may well have been a dotterel.kenmorti20/03/2015

Cairngorm Club bus meet to Cock Bridge. With a fellow member. We walked to Delnadamph Lodge and Inchmore. We continued up track in glen of Meoir Veannaich, and then ~S to summit of Meikle Geal Charn. The wind was now very strong. There was soft snow lower down – hard and icy on summit areas, We continued over Cairn Sawvie and Brown Cow Hill, descending NE to reach starting point.
