Beautiful blue skies after a cold clear night; 1h 30m up tracks fr Linn of Quoich via Carn na Criche. 1h straight back down the heather. Great views of Lochnagar and Glen Clunie hills, though main Cairngorm summits were in cloud.NorfolkPT2116/03/2024

With J during a hot & sunny week based in Tomintoul. Parked at the Linn of Quoich (£3 cash/card). Took track NW just before Allanaquoich as far as 105931 (bearing R at each fork). A cairn indicates a track leading to Carn na Criche & then an easy walk to the summit. Great viewpoint. Headed down S on a narrow path just to E of Carn Dearg where it forks. We took the L fork which petered out after a while. However, about 20m to R, we picked up another narrow path (R fork above?) which pops out on the track just 50m above Allanaquoich. If you're doing the round the other way, look for a small gap in the young trees on R - the path is faint at first & passes more clearly about 25m to R of a prominent lone pine tree a short way up the hillside.NotReallyABagger06/09/2023
