From Keiloch cycled to the col between this hill and Meall Gorm. Path to top through heather mainly by a wall. Then after Meall Gorm on to Meall an t-Slugain. | NormanW | 17/11/2023 |
Solo trip from Invercauld, clockwise circuit with diversion to summit along north ridge. Great views, lovely flowers, first blaeberries of the summer, no troublesome insects. A jolly good £3 worth (that's the parking charge). | Invicta14 | 06/07/2023 |
From parking at Keiloch | BLACKHILL | 21/04/2023 |
From Keiloch walkers car park(£3/day). Good track N and then W to base of S shoulder. Ascend shoulder initially steeply through open pine forest on energy sapping moss. Along the level section of shoulder with moss, bilberry, cowberry and heather, easier than it looks. Self-seeded pines, ridge again steepens with thin heather /moss to gain summit of quartzite breaking through short heather. High point has cairn of white quartzite blocks.Totally calm, misty cloud down to about 800m. | RichardM | 17/04/2023 |
From Keiloch, £3, on the faded purple trail. Delightful snowy path around south ridge, then up and across tree covered SE slopes to broad heathery ridge, and up to summit. Onwards to Meall Gorm following path in snow filled trench between heather. | Minto | 09/12/2022 |
With Minto. Route as beautifully described by him! | Dangerous Dave | 09/12/2022 |
From Keiloch, followed track to S of hill then ascended through trees then heather | 187lenny | 20/11/2022 |
3 of 3: From Meall Gorm. New tree planting to the ATV at 183940. With Karen. | ChrisR | 12/07/2022 |
From Keiloch (£3), along Felagie track, turning E at NO191919 along rougher track, followed that to near end, then up through pinewoods to Meall Alvie summit, descending same way back to Felagie track, SSW to NO190917, then taking side track NW looping round SE end of Craig Leek to ridge end near NO186919, headed straight up ridge to treeline, then threaded heathery knolls N to summit of Craig Leek, continued N on good footrack to col with Meall Gorm, then N to summit through recently planted pines, return to col, W on ATV track to meet deer fence, then S on forest tracks, via Fog House, back to Keiloch (4hr15m) | kdbennett | 20/11/2021 |
A bike round from keiloch on 3 seperate ridges, craig leek, meall gorm, creag a chait, little elrick, creag a chleirich. | robertphillips | 05/06/2021 |
... and on to Meall Gorm to complete a nice round. | nix_snilloc | 31/08/2020 |
So much advice! Decided to go for the purple route but being dark when I set off did not realise the path map was in the shelter next to the P&D machine. On my return I found it - the purple path goes nowhere near the top. I approached from the east (reading route via Felagie - again of no help) but I did see this side of the hill was protected by serious crags and vegetation - not a good approach. Luckily, a very pleasant green grassy track runs this side - from the ford marked to the east of the top - and joins another unmapped track to the north of the top - basically circling the hill. This allowed good access to Meall Gorm - a bonus. I continued to Cullardoch via the good track north, Carn Laiath, Creag an Dail Bheag, Creag a'Chait and back to the outward track. Following this south, an ATV leaves at NO 1793 9412 - NE then SE and a further ATV turns right at NO 1832 9401. This eventually dies but make your way to the wall to pick up an excellent path at NO 1828 9373 to top. | carole engel | 09/07/2020 |
Best done by the orange route track anticlock to the N ridge of Craig Leek then follow the dyke path to the top. | Gonk | 30/07/2019 |
Started from Inver road end. Along track through glen then over the Felagie Burn and up the track past old shielings. Camped nearby. Ascent and descent by the northern spur of the hill. Beautiful peaceful area. | PiranhaFish | 23/06/2019 |
With Jenx and Bryher from Keiloch, following estate tracks, steep up ridge to summit from high point, onwards to Craig Leek then to Meall Gorm. Heathery going following deer tracks | nordicstar | 20/01/2019 |
Super wintry scenery. Tracks and trails made the going reasonably easy much of the way. | jenx | 20/01/2019 |
Final top of 3 on good circuit with the Black Dogs. Just off the hill before the first snow of Storm Deirdre. | Tony S | 15/12/2018 |
Parked in estate carpark and followed nature trail, then up steep ridge. Dep heather at top leads to small summit cairn | cjo | 15/09/2018 |
Solo | HFB | 13/08/2017 |
On the way back from Brown Cow Hill with time to spare. From Keiloch, purple trail NE then path NW up onto south ridge. | Topographer57 | 21/05/2017 |
Paid the £2.50 to park at Keiloch, like a good person. TAC front covers still on display in the toilet. Followed the purple path NE, the wrong way round. | alda | 19/08/2016 |
Final top of a great day out from the Keiloch carpark , this one was a tough end to the day as its a bit of a pull up to the top from Meall Gorm and getting down to the car park wasnt ideal as its very steep on slippery pine needles until the Craig Leek path is found. | torkm | 15/05/2016 |
A rround of three Graham tops from Invercauld Bridge car park using good track that skirts south side of summit then straight up through open woodland - easy going.. Then North to other two in the round | dickscroop | 21/06/2015 |
