From 616047 (7:55) followed track to Ben Gullipen then along ridge across col to summit. Path and faint ATV track most of the way. Fine and warm with fair views. Return by same route; finish 9:50dbb25/08/2019
Had to start from Balvalachlan due to unhelpfully vague road diversion signs foiling efforts to reach NN616047. At NN629059 a finger-post pointed along an unmapped track going NE, with the words Ben Gullipen 2 3/4 miles - I didn't risk it. TR from Ben Gullipen, nothing steep encountered. A tempting 'path' over the intermediate mound faded out in Ruff'n'Tuff, whereas an unseen path goes L, curling down the S flank, to join an ATV track which leads almost to the summit. Pestered by flies all the way. Yet another lead-grey sky and thus yet another monochrome (and thus uninspiring) view. Has anyone seen the sun lately?Isbjorn25/06/2019
Solo trip. Probably the best view of Ben Ledi. Very steep off Ben Gullipen if you try going along the ridge. There is a path/ATV track in the valley just to S.Invicta1416/05/2019

Solo. Parked near the start of a track at NN616047 on A81 where there is parking for a few cars. Walked up the track, initially through forest and then open hillside. The track provides access to several masts on the summit area of Ben Gullipen. Highest point is reached by a stile at SW end of mast compounds. Continued to Beinn Dearg on path and then ATV track with a final little bit to the summit. Returned on track and followed it up to Letter Hill; it passes close to the highest point which is on the other side of a fence. Went up to the masts and down the access track back to the road. Fine weather and excellent views of Ben Ledi and many other hills.pwbellarby06/10/2018

From the forest track, overlooking Letter. Went up a small path by the gully, mistake No. 1. Underestimated the distance to the trig, mistake No. 2. Returned to the track via the steep slope, mistake No. 3. Could it be worse?Play2End25/03/2015
To Beinn Dearg and back from locked gate on A81 in lovely sunny spring weather. Combination of landrover, single and ATV tracks. 2 hoursalexmaclennan24/03/2015
A81 617048 track to masts then boggy path to the summit.robertphillips28/11/2014
With EKMC Arrived very early in Callender and was pleasantly surprised to find a cafe just opening. Enjoyed tea and toast and scrambled egg. They even brought me the Sunday papers to read. At 9am I set off to climb Ben gullipen and Beinn Dearg. Following the A81 passing the Bridgend Hotel to the junction, turned left and immediately picked up an excellent forest track, shown on the map as footpath. The track is signposted for Ben Gullipen and Loch Rusky. There are other signposts on route as well forest waymarkers pointing in the direct of Ben Gullipen. As you emerge from the forest the phone mast comes into view and there is a gate warning of Pedigree Highlanders on the hill. The mast is fenced off but follow it round and there is stile and now an overgrown boggy footpath which leads down and up to Beinn Dearg. No cairn or trig point on the summit but fantastic 360 degree views. Ben Ledi dominates the skyline. Loch Venachar sits below and Loch Achray is in sight with Ben Venue and Benmunromurph01/12/2013

Started at 614043, turned uphill too soon, bogged down in cuttings and heather. Back down SE ridge, then offer of ride in back of stalkers' van gratefully accepted! Probably better tackled from Loch Venachar.Topographer5728/10/2011

With: hb sb ab; We parked on A81 near NN617047 and followed the access track to the radio masts. From Ben Gullipen we crossed the rather boggy col before climbing to top of Beinn Dearg. We returned by the same route. Good views.Ian Baines01/06/2004
