Epic day with Tom and Duncan. Initially missed the bridge across the river. Only a little wet snow to slow us down on the tops.alexmaclennan16/02/2024

Parked at the end of the public road in Glen Banchor. Carn Dearg, Carn Ban, Carn Ballach SW Top, Carn Ballach NE Top, Meall a'Bhothain, Carn Sgulain W Top, Carn Sgulain, A'Chailleach, Geal Charn. Very wet underfoot and gale force winds initially on Carn Dearg (hat blown over the cliffs) but easing later with cloud lifting. With Gillian and Denise.richard6906/10/2023
Drove up Strathdearn on Friday 4th August, hiked up along the River Findhorn, to its source 1km south of Dalbeg at the meeting of River Erskin and Abhainn Cor Clach. Camped there with a few thousand midges. Saturday 5th August, I hiked up the 'crow road' along the Abhainn Cor Clach, crossing it at NH 6397 0753, before ascending Fionn-tom Mor. I continued south (disturbing dozens of deer) to eventually ascend Carn Ballach (NE Top), then west to Carn Ballach (SE Top). I stopped for lunch on Carn Ban. Here I messed up and thought I could north to rejoin the Crow Road path. But I couldn't find a safe crossing point on the Abhainn Cor Clach and there was no obvious path on the north side of the glen. So I spent far too long walking upmand down the south bank while moving downstream, looking for a spot to cross. But never did, I eventually ascended Fionn-tom Mor again then descended to my original crossing point, which had risen after the rain.chillyman805/08/2023

I left Carn Ban about two o’clock following the line of the fence herding a flock of ptarmigan in their summer grey-flecked plumage. The initial stretch alongside this fence was tedious walking. As it was stony I had to take care to avoid stubbing toes or twisting ankles. The walking surface improved beyond the anonymous Carn Balloch to a crisp mossy, short grass mix. Indeed, the surface was quite pleasant by Meall a’ Bhothain and beyond.langskill07/08/1995
