fine summit & view. circuit acw from Coiresubh, direct ascent steep but uncomplicated RHW01/08/2004
my first ascent, solo, overcast, climbed on the goc from a wild camp in gleann dubh lochan, followed the ally ban up, then broke out right to better ground and the summit of the minor top, 607 m. not a recommended route. continued up easier slopes to point 948 then onto the summit of sgurr mhaoraich, were there was a small snow flurry, picked up a rough path along the ridge over minor bumps to sgurr coire nan eiricheallach and the path down to loch quoich and my next camp.rum doodle 09/05/1998
circuit from about a mile from Kinlochourn up west ridge of the still alight, smouldering and smoking slopes of Sgurr a' Mhaorich 1027m. It was burning downhill. Head north to Am Bathaich 899m and regret having not brought my crampons and axe as northern slopes have patches of steep and hard snow. Great views across to Buidhe Bheinn which I'd hoped to include in a horseshoe. Up to Thionail and heading steeply down realise I've neither the time nor the energy for Buidhe Bheinn today. Little did I know it's ascent would be 17 years away.vegibagger06/04/1996
