From summit of Sgurr a Gharaidh, SW down steep slopes and outcrops which mighty have been easier to avoid. Rounded east shore of the first Lochan before heading directly West up gentle slope to summit. Descended steeply from summit to pick up the ATV track heading back to Cnoc nam Broc. The track continues down to West Lodge on A896 but I had parked at south end of Loch an Loin so left the track and headed down northern slopes to Loch. | Jossker | 16/06/2023 |
Parked at the entrance to Glasnock. Pick up this hill on the way to the trig | Andrew Simmons | 24/04/2023 |
The Allt a' Chuirn horseshoe from the substation and cattle grid along the A896 to the south. Started with estate tracks until due south of Creag Dabaobh, then straight up through heather, grasses, moss and lichen to its top, going over a deer fence en route. On to Glas Bheinn's trig and summit cairn, then rocky outcrops to the impressive Creag na h-lolaire and Sgurr a' Ghairaidh. Easier terrain to take in the minor tops of Meall na Caillich and Carnan before rejoining the estate tracks and the car. A good day out without coming across a fellow hiker. 5hrs total. | summitter | 22/03/2022 |
