Fantastic day out on my own and nobody else on the mountain! Weather was also brilliant with totally clear skies and no wind. Awesome!Kevthecat27/03/2023
Cloud cover. Breezy. Feeling more cold. Took standard route from Loch Cuaich up SE ridge of Sgurr Coire nan Eiricheallach. Straightforward to this point. Felt very cold by 850m - increasing NE wind. Route from here to summit appears to be via simple but steep path, but this was buried under considerable (steep) snowfields in places. Forced a steep, icy, bouldery scramble. Slightly heartrate elevating in places. Summit easy to locate. From summit, elected to come down the S ridge (this aspect was much less frozen), and without further drama, completed the circuit. My guidebook says 3hrs45 for this walk. It took me 5hrs30. Conditions were a bit trickywychwood01/03/2023

Solo ascent in semi-winter conditions from car park near the concrete bridge. Used the stalker path for the ascent, was fine up to the ridge, then patchy snow and ice made the going a little slower, though not enough that I needed to put the spikes on. Used the ice axe a bit for the final few bits of ascent (big drops). Drizzled icy rain/sleet for most of the day, and dismal vis above 900m, so sacked the idea of doing the horseshoe, and just decided to drop straight down to Coire nan Eirichean instead - down to a hydro track which led back to the single-track road, and then the last couple of kms back to the car. Total time 5h 25min.mproudfoot12/12/2021

Second day of a caravan trip to Corpach, near Fort William and I settled on a hike on the north side of Loch Quoich (called Cuaich on some maps). There is a surprisingly well-built path up and over Sgurr Coire nan Eiricheallach (891m) and to the large cairn on top of Sgurr A’ Mhaoraich (1027m), a Munro. There was cloud above 850m to start with, but this was lifting and by the time I made it to the summit, there were great views down Loch Hourn. I bagged the Munro Top of Sgurr A’ Mhaoraoch Beag (948m), then contoured across the southern slope of the Munro and down to Leac nan Gaidhseich, returning to the road at the newish turbine building and walked the roughly 4km back to the car. Dry all day, even in the cloud, 6hrs all in.chillyman829/05/2021

Quiet day but much cloudier than forecast - except it cleared on the way down. Deep soft snow and a bit of a slog - must come back when it's sunny!Capt Malbec05/02/2017
Path all the way to the top. Met couple who abandoned due to high winds, but it wasn't bad and only breezy on ridge. Just before I got to top, cloud came in. Wanted to descend by south ridge but compass pointed wrong direction, a puzzler (magnetic rock?) later pointed in correct direction, but too late as I just returned by same route.Jhimmy14/10/2016

Not a bad day in between the showers. Steep at the top. I had started on stalkers track past the baby forrest where they actually build a new road up the hill. It finishes where the stalkers track nearly runs out. Good way in the near term. It might be locked in future.tallblond02/07/2016

Parked at the roadside to NW of Loch Coire Shubh. I climbed up to Sgùrr a’ Mhaoraich Beag, surprised to find there was a path for most of the way. Continued to the summit of Sgùrr a’ Mhaoraich. I went northwards over quite complex terrain. It was a bit misty. Reached the Corbett top of Sgùrr Thionail. Returned southwards for a bit and then crossed a corrie floor and climbed up to the 892m top of Am-Bàthaich. This top, which is the only top of Am-Bàthaich to have a height marked on the OS 1:50,000 map, is not the highest point of Am-Bàthaich. This is further along the summit ridge in a direction WSW. I followed the ridge to the highest point. I could see clearly that this was the highest point. I continued to the col between Sgùrr a’ Mhaoraich and Sgùrr a’ Mhaoraich Beag and eventually found my ascent route and followed it back to the car.pwbellarby09/08/2003

circuit from about a mile from Kinlochourn up west ridge of the still alight, smouldering and smoking slopes of Sgurr a' Mhaorich 1027m. It was burning downhill. Head north to Am Bathaich 899m and regret having not brought my crampons and axe as northern slopes have patches of steep and hard snow. Great views across to Buidhe Bheinn which I'd hoped to include in a horseshoe. Up to Thionail and heading steeply down realise I've neither the time nor the energy for Buidhe Bheinn today.
