Parked outside Glen Brittle camp site for a visit to Caisteal a' Garbh-Choire and Sgurr Dubh Beag via Coir' a' Ghrunnda. Up to Bealach a' Garbh-choire, then up SW corner of Caisteal (almost certainly would require a rope to get down this way). Descended StueyB's gully, which felt much safer: the bottom is at NG 4540 2023. Returned S to Bealach on a rising traverse. Onwards to Sgurr Dubh Beag.PGCE02/06/2023
Tried the south ridge but got several metres up before deciding I didn't fancy it on my own so worked round to the middle of the west face (easily reached from either end). Once the rocks looked easier I climbed a bit then bore left until I got into a rainwater gully that slants up to the right - although this was wet it was a straightforward scramble and brought me out a few metres to the right of the top. Had left wee cairns marking my way up (now removed) so finding the way back down was easy.StueyB29/09/2022
From Glenbrittle camp site. On our way to Sg nan Eag, the last one at the end of a long day, with Iain, my guide. Misty but dry, humid and warm.iangalbraith15/08/2022

From Glen Brittle Memorial Hut, good track leads up into Coir' a' Ghrunnda, gets a bit scrambly over large boulders but nothing difficult taking a CW loop around the loch. Third hill on a linear route to Gars-bheinn. Scrambled up at the SW corner and down-climbed same route, graded as a Diff, but good rock and had no problems. On to Sgurr nan Eag.jonglew01/10/2019
Starting from Glen Brttle campsite we walked into Coir a’ Ghrunnda and up on to the ridge on the south side of Caisteal a’ Choire-bheithe. Following Alan’s advice we found the start of the grassy gully at NG 45421 20223 by traversing a faint path on the west side of the peak. Initially climbing about 20m to a first belay we then trended left to gain easier ground. With the summit in sight we scrambled in a southerly direction to the summit.BaggerGutt21/06/2019
Much rougher n tougher up Coire Ghrunnda than it was 23 years ago. CaGC was a challenge but Alan Dawson had assured me there was a rainstorm scramble gully on SW side. After a couple of false starts fast felt too tricky so I retreated, realised I needed to be lower on a grassy ledge that went further along. Found scramble-able route, but found it tricky and easy to get off route in descent. Had to reclimb and try further right. Even then it was bit tricky. Needed to take greater care noticing fine detail of my accent route. Hard work but mission accomplished. Skye tump no. 304vegibagger21/06/2018
Walk in from camp site then from Caisteal a Gharbh Choire via its NE ridge to Sgurr nan Eag, Sgurr a Choire Bhig to Glass Bheinn, down the very easy screes and out but a long day.dickscroop28/05/2018

With Tony.Watched 2 blokes climb down with problems, then I led the scramble up N end trusting our scrambles in Skye guidebook -which gave it an R2 grade. step across a gap and up a crack on good holds and jams. I then dropped a rope to Tony, improvised a belay and up he came up no problem.Climbed down the s end which was v difficult and exposed but just enough holds. Good views of Coruisk.Chris Pearson18/06/1985
Cairngorm Club meet. Solo. Attempt on complete ridge. I left Glen Brittle Camp Site at 03:05. I reached Gars-bheinn via the SW slopes to arrive at 06:30. I went on to Sgurr a’ Choire Bhig and Sgurr nan Eag. I climbed up and down Caisteal a’ Garbh Choire and continued to Sgurr Dubh na Da Bheinn. Gave up after ascending An Stac as too far behind schedule.pwbellarby05/05/1985
