Camped at Cluanie and did the ridge from Creag a Mhaim but continued to Sgurr na Sgine (ascending straight up the face) and dropped down to Glen Shiel via Faochaog. Had left bike at the road, but still tried to hitch. Gave up and cycled back to Cluanie as midges were biting.jigglybones29/05/2019

South Glen Shiel ridge with DW and SL. Weather improved by this stage.AGWilliamson24/09/2011
Long day on South Shiel rigde. Generally overcast, but cloud-free Munros plus views, only a brief rain on the penultimate Munro. I parked at the Glenshiel battle site and caught the service bus (£5.80) to Cluanie. I tagged along behind another pair of walkers and spoke to them a couple of times along the way; they opted for a direct approach to Creag a'Mhaim whilst I continued up the track to the end of the ridge. A good time 2.5 hours to Creag a'Mhaim but subsequently slowed down with each successive re-ascent, but good time overall. The descent from NE ridge of Creag nan Damh is not as striaghtforward as the SMC guide suggests and indeed the last bit through the wood close to road was horrible and involved some controlled drops/slides for the last 10-20 feet. I did not drink enough during the day and choice of food was not great - need to rectify.langskill27/06/2011

An Easter attempt E to W at the South Shiel ridge with Martin66 & Mr T. Fine weather to start but deep soft snow higher up. Dropped my car near the battle site & Martin66 drove us to the Cluanie Inn where we made the usual ascent of Creag a'Mhaim. Soft snow hampered progress over Druim Shionnach, Aonach Air Chrith to Maol Chinn-dearg. A snow shower convinced Mr T. that he had had enough for the day, so we all descended back to the road picking up the path as we got below the snow line. The other two started E towards the Cluanie Inn leaving me with 5.5km of slog along the road W to pick up my car. Got about half way when some mountain rescue lads pulled up in their Land Rover & offered me a lift back to the car. Imagine Martin66 & Mr T's surprise when I turned up in the pub just 10 minutes after they had arrived!NotReallyABagger31/03/1988

With three friends after staying at Ratagan YH. My car was left at the site of the Battlefield in Glen Shiel; we went in another car to near Cluanie Inn. We went up the old road and then up the mountainside to the col NW of Creag a’ Mhaim. Up to the summit of Creag a’ Mhaim. Back to the col and on to Druim Shionnach and Aonach air Chrith. One member of the party left us here and descended the N ridge. The rest of us continued over Maol Chinn-dearg (W Top), Sgurr Coire na Feinne, Sgurr an Doire Leathain, Sgurr an Lochain, and Sgurr Beag to reach Creag nan Damh. Descended to the car, using paths and a bridge not shown on the map. Cloudy with slight rain.pwbellarby30/08/1986
