Parked near Allt Mhalagain for a circuit of 2 outlying Simms: Faochag and Sgurr a' Chuilinn. Went up the NE ridge to Faochaig, then returned to about 700m before heading SE down grassy slopes. Contoured around at about 300m, then up to the NW ridge of Sgurr a' Chuilinn. Returned down the ridge to the start.PGCE27/05/2023

d parking NG971138 9.30am, already warm, missed way over deer fence and had to climb it, steep fern-clogged uneven slopt till got on ridge and found excellent path all the way to this top, with superb views, solid sunshine, though sweated a lot and was plagued by annoying flies which irritate but don't seem to bite.NorfolkPT2124/08/2021

Camped at Cluanie and did the ridge from Creag a Mhaim but continued to Sgurr na Sgine (ascending straight up the face) and dropped down to Glen Shiel via Faochaog. Had left bike at the road, but still tried to hitch. Gave up and cycled back to Cluanie as midges were biting.jigglybones29/05/2019

solo with the Saddle and Sgurr na Sgine, descent via Faochag which was hard on the knees. A drizzly, greasy, and windy morning mean't it was safer to dodge the Forcan Ridge. Weather better by here..Shutterlag18/05/2018

This is way off from doing the munro behind. Great views off up the valleys of kintail. From A87 you can come straight up the nose it's steep and unrelenting but easy to see and follow access to land via the deer fence and a style to climb the fence further in landAristotle Chip15/05/2016
With GHC on the way to the Munro. Windy!Play2End25/03/2016
Having done The Saddle and Forcan Ridge with Nick Piotrowski in true winter conditions we came over and did the second Munro and came off via this peak. Still at almost 3,000ft at 5pm but just managed to drop below the snow line and get crampons off as darkness fell.signyred10/02/2016

3pm start due to rain and low cloud cover. A long slog up in wind and rain, 3 hours to the top of Faochag and another to the top of Sgurr na Sgine. 2 hours down still in the wind and the rain!!akraw07/06/2011
After a full breakfast in the Kintail Lodge Hotel I parked in Glen Shiel in a lay-by about 100 metres further up the glen from the point where a public right of way to Loch Quoich. I passed through the gate at the start of the right of way but immediately struck uphill. It was a warm sunny day. I was moving very slowly after the previous day's exertions. A couple of deer fences added to the difficulties, although I found a gate through the first one. The views more than compensated for the hard work. People on the stalkers path up to the Forcan Ridge and on the summit of The Saddle were clearly visible. From the former Munro Top at Faochag the angle eased and it was a pleasant high level walk before steepening again to Sgurr na Signe’s North West Top and the summit over some rocky ground. Rather than retrace my steps I descended to the col below The Saddle, contoured round below the Forcan ridge next to a wall to pick up the excellent path beyond Meallan Odhar and back down to the roadlangskill10/04/2011

Round of Sgurr na Sgine & the Saddle from the A87 on a clear day with Shaky. Straight up the whelk (Faochag) which had the merit of gaining height quickly. Followed ridge to Sgurr na Sgine & then across to the Saddle, exploring some of the tops. Worked back to Bealach Coire Mhalagain & dropped directly back to the road.NotReallyABagger04/09/1998

my first ascent, 2 in group, climbed on the way to skye, overcast but a clear day. followed stalkers path up, meallan odhar, then the ridge proper, nice and narrow with an awkward down climb from a minor top, would be nasty in winter! continued on over and up the final steep section, a minor bump then the summit for lunch, descended down a steep and loose gully, contoured into the col and climbed up to a minor top. then south and up hill again, gaining the first top then the summit of sgurr na sgeine. returned along the ridge to faochag and a very steep descent back to glen shiel.rum doodle 12/07/1997
