Final top of the day. The descent back to the track was easier than the ascent beside the Shiel Burn, although still tussocky near the bottom.langskill28/07/2023

Horrible terrain from the track to the N. A faint path leaves the track at 4535 7854 but soon peters out.49pp13/09/2022
From Scars of Milldown, contouring round below Curleywee on sheep/deer tracks then on to Curleywee.sclater18/03/2022
Parked car at Bruce's Stone and walked to Shiel Burn which was completely overgrown with pine trees. Ended up taking a long diversion through difficult terrain to get back to the burn up near the Nick of Lochans and then Cambrick Hill to Nick of the Brushy and up to Larg Hill where I felt that my first bag of the day was well deserved. Lamachan Hill and Curleywee were much easier. Down to White Hill and back to Cycleway 7 which was also hard work due to the terrain. Walk back along the track in the dark.tsharp11/01/2022
5th and last of the day - Mulldonach, Lamachan Hill, Scars of Milldown, Curleywee and back to Buchan with a rough descent to the forest road. With Degsy and Steve Smith. 7 hours and 10 miles. Thoroughly drenched!bolton11/11/2021
Adapted route on https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/galloway/lamachan-hill.shtml with alterations to first section to avoid path overgrown with bracken by walking East along Southern Upland way until a new track was found, then when path up right side of Caldons Burn disappeared, branched right up Mulmein Burn initially using convenient track through clearfell, then to col between Lamachan Hill and Larg Hill, then dogleg out to Punch Well Brae. Note very rough on ascent/descent 8hrs for the round.PeteF12/09/2021
Drove forest road, parked Black Laggan (NX 4683 7780). Track to White Laggan then straight up the hill over rough ground. On to Curleywee -> Scars of Milldown -> Lamachan Hill -> Bennan Hill and return for a 10.6km round.jonglew04/09/2021

From Loch Trool car park, along forest track to col, then up tussocky grass to top. With A.PeterD01/09/2020
apx time, No photie too wet.DukeNukem14/06/2019
Beginning from Loch Trool I followed the forest track and the turned off and made my way up to the summit of Curleywee (674m). From there I dropped down to Bennan Hill and White Bennan Hill before then climbing back up to Bennanbrack and onto the highest point of the day at Lamachan (716m). I then dropped down to Mulldonanch and finished with a difficult descent through tussocks and felled forest to Loch Trool. Including a walk around the Loch at the end I clocked up about 15 miles on a dry sunny day.meltdiceburg22/04/2019
Bagged when descending from Curleywee. Stood on four rocky knolls, one of which must be the summit. (S)gerrybowes06/06/2018

No cairn-top at north end. The direct descent to White Laggan is very awkward underfoot in the lower halfpeebs02/08/2012
Parked nr Craigencallie ruin, followed track to White Laggan bothy. Cut up onto Curleywee Hill/White Hill before Lamachan Hill. Back around Curleywee before dropping to col and ascending rough ground to Millfore - to track and car.nordicstar29/05/2011
