From Craigencallie (what a road) out past Backhill of Garrary to a bulldozed track (obvious on google maps) which takes you to within a short pull to the col. Then followed a line of orange flags to the summit (hill race maybe). Returned same way. | SS | 29/08/2021 |
From parking area to ENE (NX 5582 8265). Took a line up over roughish ground to Meikle Lump, bypassed Meikle Millyea trig and took ridge N to Milldown and Millfire, then returned S for the trig and Meikle Millyea, then continued on S to here. Parking area 300m N. of the entrance to Craigencallie House at NX 5039 7813 - Over the River Dee, turned left & along track for about 50yd to start of felled area - Up bulldozer track littered with old brash & then a tussocky climb up to ridge - Headed NE & picked up an animal trod which runs alongside the edge of forest - Left trod by forest corner at 506806 & headed NE up rocky rib to summit. 4th top of a long circular from Glenlee visiting Meikle Millyea Trig point, Milldown and Millfire as an out and back then over to Meikle Millyea's true top and nice descent and reascent to the cairn and rock. From forestry quarry entrance, went up rough ground in firebreak to left of quarry, at tree line turn right on wire fence 20,30mtrs then go up tree rows after leaving trees go around knoll in front of you then your in rough stuff, stick to heather where possible making your way around to Darrou after the steepest part you should pick up a trod which takes you all the way around the West flank of Darrou to the col then pick the best route you can over rough ground to the top. | Anton | 01/08/2015 |
