Straight up from Loch Valley. Some animal tracks helped navigate the tussocks.sclater19/03/2022
From Meaul, final part of loop over Merrick. Descent to Bruces Stone Car park. With Adrian.alwaysinshorts03/09/2021
From Bruce's Stone, using the Gairland Burn path, horribly overgrown with bracken and thorns, a relief to go steeply up more open hill. My altimeter couldn't split the two northerly cairns. On to MeaulColin Crawford30/07/2021
From Glen Trool car park. Up and over Black Gairy, rough pathless ground. On to Meaul -> Craig Neldricken, also picked up Bennan on the return.jonglew25/06/2021
Some outstanding weather for this route around some fine Galloway Hills from car park for Bruce's stone. Benyellary, the Merrick, then descent of E ridge and on to Craig Neldricken (visited the 3 tops with 550m contours). Continued to climb Craignairny, and then Dungeon Hill, camping a short distance from the summit. Traversed to climb Meaul and on to Buchan Hill and descent SW to join track and short distance to start point.RobertP02/10/2020
We took the tourist route to Merrick, detouring to Bennan and scampering over Bennyellary on the way. Returned to the Bruce Stone carpark via the rugged Rig of Loch Enoch, taking in Craig Neldricken and Buchan Hill before descending to the ferocious Buchan waterfalls below.summitter06/07/2020
Meaul and buchan hill from the glen trool cp, followed path to near loch valley and up to meaul, back over all buchan tops and down to south of buchan burn.robertphillips08/03/2020

Merrick Hill Race: took four or five seconds to stand on the cairn.Eddie17/09/2016
Stayed high to avoid the low level so-called path when returning from Craig Neldricken to Glen Trool. Enjoyable route with decent path to follow.mae24/05/2016
From Bruce's Stone cp on way to Mullwharchar.ngthack10/10/2015
Last hill of four on an outing from the House of hill hotel in Bargrennan climbing Bennan, Benyellary and Merrick and then descending the Rig of the Gloon crossing a burn and then scrambling upto the ridge (rig of loch Enoch). I followed the high ground to visit the three cairns. Descent was down a 5 ledge near Black Gairy. Amazing views of Loch Trool. I traversed the hillside and then scrambled alongside Buchan falls; its a beautiful waterfall. Eventually i emerged at Buchan bridge from where i turned right and followed Stanes 7 route back to Bargrennan.Dazingdale08/05/2015

W Jenx from Glen Trool CP. Grand tour of Marilyns and lesser tops to east of Merrick to finish on Craiglee. Took Merrick path to 255m then cross burn w care! Up wet hillside to crags and cattle who've messed up a fine top. Two cairns @490m, NE is higher. Onwards via Rig of Loch Enoch on a good path!nordicstar21/07/2012

My log says 'up the least steep slopes from a knoll' and conveys my relief in finding a little path (unexpected) through rough terrain. A lovely way through Loch Valley, over Rig of Loch Enoch, to Merrick. With Petepwheeler08/09/2002

from Merrick. Downhill across fence and wall to deer path through hillocks to 3 cairns on the top at 12.00.arranc23/05/1992
Approximate date of first ascent. Round from Loch Trool of Buchan Hill, Meaul, Rig Of Loch Enoch, sometimes Craig Neldricken and/or Mullwharchar, up E flank of Merrick & back to Loch Trool via Benyellary and sometimes Bennan and the wonderful viewpoint of Fell Of Eschoncan. One of my favourite rounds anywhere.NotReallyABagger01/06/1990
