From Strathan with camping pack. Stubborn cloud clinging to ridge lifted just as I got up there but returned next morning. Keds on summit. Rounsfell16/08/2023
4 munros west to east from Sgurr na Ciche to Sgurr Mor and Sgurr an Fhuarain Corbett from Loch Akraighummusg09/08/2023
Via South ridge, from Strathan, via Glen Dessary - the stalker's path is now very degraded and slow going. Crossed the Uth OK. Saturated unstable collapsing ground up to fore-peak, then crampons needed for steep and exposed neve on the final 'dome'.Isbjorn Winter Round28/01/2023

2/6 A tough but amazing mountain day in the rugged fringes of Knoydart. Left the car with many others along the end of the public road at the west end of Loch Arkaig. Biked from there past Strathan, Glendessary Lodge to Upper Glendessary, altogether saving 10km of walking. Followed the usual track up the steep ridge of Sgurr nan Coireachan via its South Top, then steeply down to the Bealach and along the lovely rocky ridge over Garbh Chioch Bheag (and its E Top) and up to the second Munro Garbh Chioch Mor. Then steeply down to the next Bealach and up to the stunning Sgurr na Ciche, the highlight of the day. Finally, the long walk back, initially down the incredibly steep gully and then by the easy but never ending track back to the very welcome bike at Upper Glendessary. A perfect day for the hills with extensive all round views of the west Highlands and Islands. Altogether 27km with 1600m ascent, taking 10h 20m.silveracorn_alan03/06/2022
Loch Arkaig, Sgurr na ciche, Garbh Chioch Mhor Garbh Chioch Bheag, down eroded path to bealach and then steep slog up good path to summit. Head South down ridge on good path to lower boggy section to path above plantation and back to car 9.30pm. 11 hours.Flatfield24/05/2022
2/2 ...followed ridge SW from Sgurr Mor over minor summits. An Eag was quite a significant accent but weather held and snow remained patchy. Then headed out on S ridge to pick up path out by forest. Had hoped to get the 2 Munros to the W but day was long enough and didn't feel up to it - getting oldwychwood19/03/2022

On the last narrower but straightforward section towards the summit I began to worry about the line of descent to the next Top. I reached Sgurr na Corieachan at last at 1205. I had a roll, took some photos and then moved off. The descent to the col was straightforward - an obvious track to follow, albeit with care on the steep descent, then it was a very long slow pull up Garbh Chioch Beag alongside the amazing stone wall.langskill12/06/2015

Wonderful warm and part sunny day but a long hot slog along the glen. Rewarded with a brilliant ridge walk and stunning viewsCapt Malbec27/07/2013
Parked at the head of a mirror like Lock Arkaig and ascended south ridge from Glen Dessary. The summer heatwave was in full force and we sweated buckets. Deer were taking dips in the lockans to cooling off. After the summit we had had enough, so we camped at the col west of the summit. Later we learnt that several members of the SAS had died in the heat, so felt less guilty that we had knocked off early that day.mindlessflogger10/07/2013
3rd of 3. Still enjoying the day even if the traffic is all going in the opposite direction to me. Path off wasn't great and I then made the daft decision to take the bike out on the N path. Had to push, kick and drag back to Glendessarry. Brutal day! 30.1km, 1955m, 12hr15.bowzi07/07/2013
