Parked at high point on A4061. 10 mile end to end ending at Melincourt. Bagged 493m Tump top at 861004. Found the trig point hidden in the trees just off the side path | JulieB | 29/12/2022 |
Parked in Glyncorrwg at 87537 99237 and did an 8.92 mile circuit of Mynydd Corrwg Fechan, Mynydd Pen y Cae and Moel y Hyrddod. Just over 3 hours. Trig is tucked away in the trees but no problem as long as you have a GPS. | clivevilla | 20/04/2022 |
12 mile Celtic Ultra recce run from Cymmer with Pauline … | milejunkie | 27/06/2021 |
Walked up the old railway from Cymer to Glynncorrwg and then up the overgrown path and then forest track to the trig, looping back over the ridge. A nice spot. With Alma Aurea. | meltdiceburg | 30/05/2021 |
Up from Glyncorrwg on the forest tracks having read that the paths were not in a good state. A gentle gradient all the way. Approached pillar via the mountain bike track and then caught sight of it through the trees. It sits in a little clearing of its own. | Father Ted | 16/04/2021 |
Nightmare at first following so-called fp. A bramble and bracken jungles from Church Street, Glyncorrwg. I advise taking the good forestry track north up Cwm Corrwg Fechan and then turning sharply south west. Considerably longer but far easier. No problem finding trig. | Campbell Singer | 05/09/2020 |
From Glyncorrwg, up Little used BW until joined forest track to top. Trig point hidden in trees, but best reached from MTB trail.
Then on to Mynyyd Corrwd Fechan | PeterD | 23/04/2019 |
22 mile training run, took some time out to find Cairn, TP4876 Moel Y Hyrddod and TP2081 Cefn Mawr | philwhit | 07/04/2019 |
From Glyncorrwg. 11 mile circular walk: Cefn Mawr trig pillar first, then along the Coed Morgannwg Way for this and Mynydd Pen-y-cae before heading back via Mynydd Corrwg Fechan. Hill fog down and drizzling; nice day. | jonglew | 30/01/2017 |
5/5 Long walk up from Glyncorrwg, Found gas pipeline and the high point but as was getting dark could not find the trig pillar. | Fergalh | 07/02/2015 |
Tricky one to find without a GPS. Find the gas pipeline markers, then one of the cycle trails and the trig is hidden in the trees. | Ianto&Sue | 13/09/2014 |
