2/7 Parked at Buckham's Bridge CP, to do a circular walk visiting Fullhope Edge and Bell Hill, both available as no firing in lambing season. Unfortunately, Whar Moor was closed due to deer stalking. Then down to Blindburn, before following the quad bike track / bridleway over Yearning Law to the mountain refuge hut. Then hopping between England and Scotland along the border fence picking up Raeshaw Fell and Blackhall Hill. Left the border just before Brownhart Law (previously summited) to head ENE along the bridleway across Deel's Hill and back to Buckhams Bridge. A splendid high level route, with only one major descent and re-ascent at Blindburn. Very grey and windy all day. 21km with 890m ascent, taking 5h 20m.silveracorn_alan13/05/2022
With Jo, from Buckham’s Bridge cp: across Blindburn Bridge to track south before crossing stile to track in Carshope Plantation to Whar Moor. Then track onto Bell Hill and then followed vague paths onto Fulhope Edge, before following another vague path NW directly to Buckham’s Bridge. Weather; sunny, cold wind, good visibility.amblerbob24/04/2021
From Buckham's Bridge Fulhope Edge > Bell Hill > Whar MoorAndrew Simmons24/04/2021
From parking at Buckham's Bridge. Up the shoulder of the hill on the W of Cat Cleugh and round > Fulhope Edge. SSE to the head of Gable Burn then ENE > Bell Hill (sparcely planted with trees). Then easy forest roads (dense forest) > Whar Moor. Not planted at the very top so easy access from the forest track. Easy forest tracks down to the foot bridge at Blindburn and back along the road to the parking. Check https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/otterburn-firing-times before venturing onto the ranges.JohnR03/04/2021
From Whar Moor followed tracks to South side of hill and then track up to compound left of mast, follow fence around to left to top corner and then left 50 mtrs on a sort of trod to summit.Anton02/08/2020
With Whar Moor and Fulhope Edge. Parked by FB at NT 8297 1084. Whar Moor easy, Bell Hill easy but now sparsely wooded. Crossing from Bell Hill to Fulhope Edge involved long grass to S of Gable Burn and tussocks to the north. ATV along ridge and off Fulhope Edge - from FB and north, pick this up at NT 83036 10216. From FB best to circuit to east to avoid tussockscarole engel20/07/2019
Parked near Buckham's Bridge which was built in 1955. Direct route to Fulhope Edge then off-piste route across to Bell Hill before heading down to the obvious track to the summit of What Hill. Then return on this track and descent towards Gable Burn which is crossed. Then along towards Blindburn Farm to use the bridge to cross the Coquet just as it started to rain. Ran along the road back to my car.Dugswell210/05/2018
From Whar Moor. Higher tops now in cloud. Nice to see conifers growing at natural densities.Wycombe Wanderer27/08/2017
Contoured round from Fulhope Edge in the mist to arrive at a metal shipping container at edge of trees. Good track from here to within 150m of summit, old demolished cairn in old felled area.Aye Jimmy30/05/2016
Semi wooded hill. Collapsed cairn at summit. Generator not too far away.Adrian08/11/2014
On own. Circular walk from Buckhams Bridge CP - Thirl Moor - Fulhope Edge - Whar Moor - Bell Hill - Tindale Law and back along road 12 miles, 2400ft 6 hours. Ranges closed for lambing so great chance for an extended wander on these hills - saw no-one else all day. Easiest access to summit is via forest track which circles the hill.Radio mast is just south east of the high point.Crib Goch06/05/2014
Good track all the way from Blindburn Bridge (assuming the river is fordable)moorsman22/08/2013
Danger area, worth checking access beforehand, failed Sun 17/11/02 due to major Army exercise; summit felled & cleared & OK walking; OK view (moonlight). from 864092 due to an oversight, in moonlight RHW14/02/2003
