Parked at the limited parking area at Gatesgarth (£4 cash only). Took the bridleway up Warnscale Bottom and up into Dubs Bottom. Crossed the beck and took the path up the southern flank of Green Crag. Left it at its highest point on a faint path that wound up through the crags to the summit. Then descended to join the main Haystacks path, detouring to scale Pt. 544m. Visited both cairns on the Haystacks summit ridge before descending on the scrambly path down to Scarth Gap and onwards to Peggy's Bridge and Gatesgarth. Solo. 9.7km, with 630m of ascent. 4hrs 30mins.Man of Kernow125/09/2020

From Seavy Knott. Fantastic walking with the might of Gable, Kirk Fell and Pillar for company. A hidden gem of a route that the tourist route up Haystacks misses. Climbed to point 545 before realizing my mistake and going back. On to Green Crag.Wycombe Wanderer27/10/2019

Day 4 of backpacking trip through Lakes with 5 friends from CUHWC: Innominate Tarn - Brandreth - Great Gable - Sty Head - Corridor - Scafell Pike - Great End - Angle Tarn. Illustrated account: http://tinyurl.com/phapebu. Managed to find 2 unbagged peaks en route - 2 subDeweys SE of Haystacks. Good!Mark Jackson05/09/2013
Seems to be pushing it calling this a Haystacks top. Does not really seem to be connected to Haystacks. Spent 48 hours in a tent on this top in the early 1990's. It never stopped raining. Up from the fence to the west after leaving Haystacks.mick04/08/2013
After Haystacks. If GPS coverage is not at its best it is difficult to work out the correct peak.destaylor25/07/2013
