As others, parking area near bend and up track
Also visited trig, bit of a yomp out and in over heather, bit windy | matty1971b | 16/12/2023 |
Ran up from corner of road at Snaisgill, heading first for the cairn, and then continue straight on beyond that, to finally find the trig. Then a trudge through the heather to the top of Monks Moor, before a quick loop of the small body of water before a run back along the road to the car. | madaddo | 09/06/2022 |
Large parking area just below the mine at Marl Beck. Footpath straight up from the hairpin bend in the road. Gravel road to shooting hut. Up to the small ponds then an easy walk across heather to the summit shelter cairn/ currick. Visited lower small cairn then back along grassy ATV track to the shooting hut. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 17/03/2022 |

With Jo, from Marl Beck: track through mine workings to shooting hut, through gate and followed grass track to summit. Continued onward to Raven Hills trig. Weather; cloudy, windy, good visibility. | amblerbob | 14/09/2019 |
With Sue from Blunts House via Raven Hill to Monks Moor, return Snaisgill. Sunny. | Frank | 06/08/2018 |
Walked up f/p from Marl Beck through old mine workings. Through wooden gate in wall, immediately on right through gate in fence. Monk's Currick visible on skyline to SE. Rough ground past grouse butts to delightful gritstone edge topped by summit currick/shelter. Back same way to visit Coldberry Gutter and mine ruins. | John Lee | 09/11/2017 |
From road to the west then a slog over moorland in the mist to the trig point. | Alan Caine | 18/10/2017 |
Came up here on 23rd June thinking I'd got the summit but the mist had come down and I was a few hundred metres to the west! Repeat visit to achieve the currick on the summit this time after avoiding the grouse beaters and shooters over on the other side of the valley. Parked up at Middle End and ran along past the old mineworkings before climbing up through the heather / bracken | madaddo | 08/09/2017 |

Walked up the track with Luke from Middle End Farm then followed the Path, not visible on the ground | Bheinn | 30/03/2016 |
Pulled off road at 953,292 - lots of room. Up RoW then followed track from shooting hut. Nice top. | Crib Goch | 25/03/2015 |
From road to West, parking just past cattle grid to south. Followed track N then East to col past shooting hut, track through butts leads to nice little edge with good scrambling. Big cairn/shelter looks HP although ground nearby similar. Small cairn to South lower by Abney. Continued down south to the trig - Raven Fells. Rough and awkward but good views. | nordicstar | 31/10/2014 |
We parked on a spacious area just up the quarry track at NY 95308 29320 (415m) and used this same track that merges with a public right of way to reach the col between Monks Moor and Carrs Hill. From this point at NY 95926 29709 just past a shooting hut there's a vague grassy track nearly all the way to the summit. | David Gradwell | 28/07/2013 |
Parked near cattle grid on road due W of hill. Gate short distance S down road. Got there, then realised I'd done this hill years ago but couldn't find it in diary. | Aye Jimmy | 06/06/2013 |
Made a beeline from the roadside due west of the summit. Only problem is finding a low point to cross the wall 200 metres east of the road ..... otherwise a straightforward but pathless trip. | moorsman | 05/11/2012 |
There's a good vehicle track from the ESE (.353 spot) for the 1st half - heathery thereafter. Parking OK. | jimbloomer | 18/10/2012 |
Circular run out of Bollihope taking in Monk's Moor, Millstone Rigg, Islington Hill and Long Man. Slightly suspect hits on unclear summits. | jhodson | 12/04/2012 |
