Steep descent off Meall Onfhaidh. Ascended on a sloping rise to west of summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave01/12/2023

Got slightly lost through the deforestation bit, but soon found the ATV track to stile. Long way to top.Jhimmy24/04/2022
From Fassfern. Best route only found on descent: leave forest track at deer fence corner by wooden bench, follow fence and edge of wood to ATV track in tussock grass which leads to stile over deer fence. Galltywenallt31/03/2022
From Fassfern up to Glensulaig for Meall a' Phubuill returning over Meall Onfhaidh and Aodann Chleireig.rhalstead22/10/2021
From Fassfern as Chris did, very very windy, head down keep moving day.hils24/09/2021
Fassfern to Bothy (with Sal who was on way to Meall a' Phubuill) to Meall Onfhaidh (diagonal descent OK in summmer) then Aodann Chleireig (enjoyed scrambles through a few rock bands). Straightforward descent to Sluice to ESE down a rocky terrace then on to track.davechaffey05/08/2021

Parked at Fassfern intending to wait for the weather to clear and see how much of the round of two Grahams and a Corbett was possible. In the end the heavy showers carried on a stiff westerly didn't abate until after 2pm. Forestry track north west then west, then slogged up a cleared area. A squall had me contemplating giving up, but it didn't last. Found the stile over the deer fence and bashed on. Very strong wind along the top. On return found an ATV track which was some help, but the flattened long wet grass was like ice in places.Owen B11/10/2019
From Fassfern up track then found atv track easily enough thanks to previous logs (start is at NN0145779402 - ditch can be avoided by going on 100m on main track and cutting back on a linked track) which led to about 50m short of gate/stile. Then up ridge. Returned same way.SS13/06/2019

From Fassfern via the bothy on the E side of the river, and up the NE ridge on a boggy ATV track to Meall Onfaidh, which then turns to become the SE ridge. Wandered over several candidate summit bumps to ensure the bag. Steep but easy descent on SW ridge, then up the steep and ill-defined N ridge of Aodann Chleireig, much more interesting than it looks, finding the way up easy breaks in the crags. Visited multiple summit candidates of similar height before realising that an arsewipe had chucked the cairn down onto the grass below. Rebuilt it, then down the SE ridge, finding an ATV track after the gate, which goes down through the forest. Use it now before it gets completely overgrown. If using it to climb the hill, be aware that the start is hard to find, very approx GR 106794, look for old track across a deep ditch, and the ATV goes up right from this after a few yards. Maybe will need to use the forest road in a few years time.Gill11/06/2018
From Fassfern. A good ATV track goes all the way from (insert ref) to the S ridge above the trees (only found this on the way down!). Summit ridge is confusing in mist with 2 or 3 possible candidates for the top - keep going until the summit cairn which is helpfully near the fence.benalder28410/03/2018
Fassfern - Glen Suileag - Meall a' Phubuill - Meall Onfhaidh - Aodann Chleireig - Fassferndavidpettit8403/06/2017
From a layby at NN006785 on the A830. With a friend. Walked up a forest track northwards and then NW. The end of the track is not far from the edge of the forest; we found a way through. There is a high fence round the edge of the forest which has to be climbed over. Climbed steeply ENE to reach easier slopes of Aodann Chlèireig. From Aodann Chlèireig continued to Beinn an t-Sneachda. Went S to point 625m where there is a cairn. OS has the name Beinn an t-Sneachda at this point on their 1:25,000 map. This is clearly lower than the summit. We descended SE. Very windy.pwbellarby02/03/2017
From Meall Onfhaidh. Took south ridge down. Need to pay more attention when hill is on map edge!Campbell Singer05/05/2016
Aodann Chleireig (NM 994825) S/F NM 961794 Day walk. Dry sunny start and finish but cool and cloudy higher up. Cloudbase about 3000' and broken.John Young01/04/2015
From Fassfern via Druim Beag.ChrisR13/03/2015
Dreadful forecast of gales and driving rain. Parked Fassfern, walked yellow pole road to end then ascended clearcut forest onto shoulder of Aodann Chleirig then followed metal posts to top and onto Beinn an t-Sneachda shoulder. Soaked through and chilled. Viz lowering and wind increasing. Followed posts off Aodann to road.alexmaclennan11/03/2015
From Fassfern, along road to just before Locheilside station then up to 621m top, over Beinn ant Sneachda and continuing to Meall Onfaidh. Tried to descend too far to south - too steep in snow without axe so headed further east to find easier line. Back down track to finish at Fassfern. all ridge in cloud, route finding a bit tricky and cairns on false tops did not help - prematurely raising hopes! fence helpeddickscroop04/01/2015

from Onfhaidh. Detour to the right on steep grass to drop 1,000 feet to a col at 12.45. Slog uphill made less so by a slight breeze. Disturbed a grouse family - wing trailing; the whole works. To the top at 14.00. Dearg, Nevis, Resipol, sea, Knoydart peaks, Gulvain and Onfhaidh.arranc05/07/2009
MB. Fassfern (A830) through Glen Suileag to Meall a'Phubuill then Meall Onfhaidh, Aodann Chleireig & Beinn an t'Sneachda. Persistant rain becoming showery with gale force winds & snow at height.Vin14/03/2009

It hill of an over ambitious solo unsupported attempt to run/ climb 24 marilyns on foot in 24 hours across Knoydart. Took a heck of a while to just get to the top of this one through the forest from the road before the clock could begin. Managed 6 in 6 hours but too hard going to maintain the pace so pulled out before overcommitted.Chris Pearson27/08/2001
