Today myself and Alma Aurea had a circular walk from Nether Row (Caldbeck). We climbed High Pike 658m, Hare Stones 627m, Drygill Head 622m, Miton Hill 607m, Round Knott 603m, Carrock Fell 662.3m and down via West Fell 511m. Cloudy early on clearing to full sun halfway and great views. /D | meltdiceburg | 02/09/2023 |
A revisit to Carrock Fell and High Pike taking in all the surrounding Birketts and Synges, some of which I may have previously summitted before I recorded peaks.
Parked on the moorland road near Calebreck, then followed the rough road up by Carrock Beck, before ascending Red Gate to the ridge to Carrock Fell, taking in Miton Hill and Round Knott en route. Then west to Drygill Head, and along a charming minor track over Hare Stones, Great Lingy Hill, and Miller Moss, before rougher country to Little Lingy Hill. Back to below Hare Stones before considerable descent to Birk Hill and re-ascent to High Pike. Then easy going back to Calebreck via West Hill. 19km with 800m ascent in just under 6 hours. | silveracorn_alan | 14/05/2023 |

1/3. Parked at Calebreck, good parking area, then a good path almost to summit of West Fell straight in front of you, on to High Pike (Revisit) then North West to Birk Hill. From there down to cross Long Grain, picked up the track contouring round Short Grain and down to meet the miners track back to the car. A pleasant 3 hours out on the hills, picking up these two Synges. | nickywood1 | 27/08/2022 |
