There is a gate due south of the top which would give access to the RoW to the south. Unfortunately it is padlocked. It also has barbed-wire twisted round the top bar of the gate. It also has barbed-wire stabled to the top of the two supporting posts.Alan Moore01/12/2023

From the track south of Fangs Brow Farm to Burnbank Fell then Owsen Fell, doubling back to Burnbank Fell before heading south. Criss-crossed between Sharp Knott, Carling Knott and Loweswater End then up to Blake Fell. Down to High Nook and Gavel Fell then over to the Banna Fells, before finishing on the knobbly Floutern Cop. Headed home along the wet path then lovely track above Whiteoak Beck and Holme Wood. 4.5hrs total.summitter16/01/2022
A revisit on my way down to the van near Whins. Met a lovely couple on the summit. Hillbaggers from Upper Weardale. Why has this sturdy high barbed wire fence been put up? Even the gates are padlocked and have barbed wire covering them. Both sides of the fence are Access Land! I get the impression that walkers arent very welcome on the lower slopes of this hill.
